Top 2 UFC Prop Bets for UFC Tampa Event
1. Drakkar Klose vs Joel Alvarez: No Russians, No Problem!
All the Spanish love goes to the featherweight champ Ilia Topuria, but let’s put some respect on the name of Joel ‘El Fenomeno’ Alvarez (21-3-0 record). If Russian fighters weren’t allowed on the UFC roster, I’m almost certain this Spanish finishing machine would be a champion or, at least, a top-five-ranked fighter.
Since Alvarez joined the UFC in 2019, he’s finished all his opponents by KO/TKO or submission that weren’t of Russian heritage. And yes, his three career losses were against Russians, and guess what? His UFC Tampa foe, Drakkar Klose (15-2-1), is American. So, you know what that means? El Fenomeno, for the dub!
Country handicapping aside, Alvarez is an absolute dawg! Because of this, he won’t be a UFC betting underdog this weekend, and rightfully so, as Klose will bring the fight, which will result in plenty of openings for the next big thing from Espanya!
Bet This Pick: Joel Alvarez by KO or Submission [-155]

2. Finishing Machine
Klose loves to throw big bombs, and he’s no walk in the park. However, styles make fights, and as a slugger who isn’t afraid to go to war, this will heavily favor the stoppage-hungry Alvarez, who doesn’t just have a top-notch jiu-jitsu game but also a clean striking offense that offers much power.
With the UFC betting odds are slightly juiced, and that’s ok because Alvarez isn’t a point-fighter. We’re taking the Spaniard inside the distance, who’ll utilize his long frame and throw nasty elbows, knees, punches, and kicks to hurt the opposition! Better yet, grappling and/or scrambling situations will allow him to sink into a submission if all else fails.
Klose vs Alvarez Betting Trends:
- All 21 of Alvarez’s pro-MMA wins came by KO/TKO or submission
- Alvarez’s only UFC loss since 2019 was against the 155lb No.1 contender, Arman Tsarukyan
- Alvarez has finished UFC opponents in rounds 1, 2, and 3

Cub Swanson vs Billy Quarantillo: Violence Incoming
If you’re familiar with the work of Cub Swanson (29-14-0) and Billy Quarantillo (18-6-0), you’ll already know why their UFC Tampa battle was positioned as the co-main event. This bout has sleeper Fight of the Night written all over it, and it’s irrelevant who walks out victorious because the fans are going to win, either way!
Consistency has been an issue for both Swanson and Quarantillo recently, which is expected from a 40-year-old and 36-year-old. Nevertheless, in success or defeat, violence is almost a given, and with a combined 43 KO/TKO or submission wins/losses throughout their respective careers, I nearly spat my mulled wine on the Christmas tree when I saw the under sitting at +115 odds at BetUS Sportsbook.
Bet This Pick: Swanson vs Quarantillo Under 2 ½ Rounds [+115]

Finish the Fight!
Boxing? Give me Swanson all day long. Crisp, smooth jabs from the outside and excellent power strikes in the pocket offensive striking are why Swanson has been a well-known name for over a decade, but aged 41, he’s a veteran who doesn’t have much remaining in the tank.
For Quarantillo, I envision him having more fluid movement and greater range control. This is where I believe the favorite can overwhelm the 40-something Cub and capitalize on a level of durability that’s not what it used to be. In contrast, Swanson’s experience, power, and boxing skills can flatline most featherweights.
The MMA betting odds are slightly in favor of Quarantillo, and with his ability to smother Swanson in grappling situations and hold his own standing, I’m not surprised. It’ll be too much pressure from Billy Q for Cub to handle, resulting in a stoppage or an accumulative damage-based situation from Cub’s boxing. Either way, we’re backing this fight to end before the judges intervene… Violence is incoming!
Swanson vs Quarantillo Betting Trends:
- Six of Quarantillo’s 10 UFC bouts ended inside the distance
- Quarantillo has won or lost inside the distance in 3 of his previous 4 UFC bouts
- 5 of Swanson’s previous 7 UFC bouts ended inside the distance
