UFC 273 Prelim Picks
Ian Garry vs Darian Weeks
- Moneyline: Darian Weeks +300, Ian Garry -400
- Round Totals: Over 1½ (-170), Under 1½ (+140)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Welterweight (170 lbs) (3 Rounds)
Ian Garry is another hyped Irish prospect that we would love to fade… but not in this fight. Darian Weeks is a layup for Garry (8-0-0) though his odds are too steep. Weeks (5-1-0) is a bit too rudimentary in his technique and isn’t exactly special anywhere. At best, Weeks can take Garry to a decision or to the third round.
And that brings us to our bet online where we like Garry to beat Weeks past the halfway mark of the fight. Weeks can be a tough customer and Garry may struggle in some spots. But he’ll overwhelm him down the road and keep building his resume.
Pick: Over 1½ Rounds (-170)
Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs Marcin Tybura
- Moneyline: Marcin Tybura +125, Jairzinho Rozenstruik -155
- Round Totals: Over 2½ (+120), Under 2½ (-150)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Heavyweight (265 lbs) (3 Rounds)
In what should be a stressful fight to watch for all types of bettors, lean on “Bigi Boy” Jairzinho Rozenstruik to get Marcin Tybura out of there. Rozenstruik (12-3-0) has a habit of hunting for that perfect punch. This inactivity could lead to Tybura (22-7-0) edging him on the scorecards. But trust that Bigi Boy will land it at some point.

Three of Tybura’s five UFC losses have come via KO. He put on a five-fight winning streak but Rozenstruik is a level above the guys Tybura beat. Rozenstruik to finish Tybura is +110 and is one of the best UFC bets for this fight.
Pick: Jairzinho Rozenstruik -155
Aspen Ladd vs Raquel Pennington
- Moneyline: Aspen Ladd +150, Raquel Pennington -180
- Round Totals: Over 2½ -325, Under 2½ +245
- Weight Class (Rounds): Women’s Bantamweight (135 lbs) (3 Rounds)
Aspen Ladd could be a sharp bet as an underdog here against Raquel Pennington, who stunned Macy Chiasson in her last fight. Pennington (13-8-0) seemingly looked done until this fight but we can’t trust her with that line. Ladd (9-2-0) is easier to back here as a dog.
But for our money, we like this fight to not reach the judges (+190) and to go under 2½ rounds at these juicy odds. Ladd depletes herself by cutting to 135 and could make a fight-ending mistake. Alternatively, if she cuts right, she could pound the stuffing out of Pennington en route to a finish.
Pick: Under 2½ (+245)
Mickey Gall vs Mike Malott
- Moneyline: Mickey Gall +160, Mike Malott -200
- Round Totals: Over 2½ (+140), Under 2½ (-170)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Welterweight (170 lbs) (3 Rounds)
A fast-paced welterweight bout kicks off the UFC betting prelims as Mike Malott is expected to debut with a bang against Mickey Gall. If the online sports betting lines are proven accurate, Malott (7-1-1) should make quick work of Gall (7-4-0), likely a first-round finish as he’s done in the regional scenes.
But this is the UFC and while Gall has been finished, he has proven to be one tough customer. Gall is live as an underdog here and could just outlast Malott, who does not have too much experience going three hard rounds. The inexperience and “UFC jitters” could also lead to Malott gassing down the stretch and getting finished.
