Top Two UFC 310 Parlay Picks for Dec 7

1. Ciryl Gane vs Alexander Volkov 2: Déjà vu

Much like fake beards, red suits, and the chants of ‘Ho, Ho, Ho,’ arriving every December, Ciryl Gane (12-2) vs. Alexander Volkov (38-10) is something we’ve seen before. Back in 2021, Gane, as the speedy, light-footed striker that he is, danced circles around Volkov and out-pointed him to a unanimous decision.

Here’s the difference: the winner of Saturday’s rematch is almost guaranteed to be next in line (Hopefully behind Tom Aspinall) for a shot at Jon Jones’ heavyweight strap.

Gane and Volkov are ranked #2 and #3, respectively. Despite the former walking away victorious in the first clash, the latter has built a four-fight win streak, held onto his position as an elite heavyweight, and hopes that his 8-year service under the UFC banner will finally result in a title opportunity.

Here’s the problem: Gane isn’t like any of the opponents Volkov has defeated recently. The Frenchman is an athletic specimen with a background in kickboxing coupled with significantly faster footwork, striking speed, and movement than every other heavyweight on the roster, aside from maybe Aspinall.

Bet This Pick: Ciryl Gane Moneyline (-360)

History Repeating Itself

History repeats itself every December, and we’ll say the same when Gane and Volkov meet again this weekend. Now, we know Gane’s kryptonite is when he’s stuck in the bottom position, and Volkov can surely wrestle. However, he isn’t your typical wrestler who will spam shots for three rounds; much like the first fight, he’ll be kept at a distance as Gane darts in and out with fast strikes and prevents the wrestling/grappling scenarios.

We should also consider that Gane has only one flaw: his all-around grappling prowess. Ultimately, that means he has one thing to focus on in the gym, as we can only imagine his takedown defense versus average wrestlers like Volkov is significantly stronger than in their first meeting.

I suppose you already know where we’re going with this. Expect a deja vu moment when Gane meets Volkov at UFC 310, and with the UFC betting odds being relatively juiced on the moneyline, this makes for the perfect first leg of our UFC parlay!

  • Gane defeated Volkov in 2021 by unanimous decision
  • Volkov has defeated just 1 top-five-ranked heavyweight opponent since 2020
  • Gane holds a 9-2 UFC record, with his only losses coming against championship-caliber opponents
  • Movsar Evloev vs Aljamain Sterling: And Still, Undefeated!

Aljamain ‘Funk Master’ Sterling (24-4-0), I know you either love or hate him. He has a goofy personality in the eyes of some, and that isn’t to everybody’s taste. However, his knockout loss and bantamweight title surrender to Sean O’Malley has seemingly overshadowed the legacy he built at 135lbs. You have to respect the hustle and resume of Funk Master, whether you like him or not, although the ambition of replicating said success as a featherweight might be too much to ask.

A lot of Sterling’s bantamweight career was spent overpowering, sizing up to smaller framed opponents, and utilizing a decorated wrestling background to ragdoll them and have his way. Unfortunately for him, while 145 might be an easier weight cut, he won’t have those same advantages and must rely purely on skill.

In step Movsar Evloev (18-0). He’s an undefeated Russian and can wrestle with the best of them! Need I say anymore? Make him your UFC pick this weekend.

Bet This Pick: Movsar Evloev Moneyline (-250)

Title Shot Incoming

We’re going to see the wrestling chops of Evloev, a Master of Sports in Greco-Roman wrestling, go against Sterling’s wrestling prowess (x2 NCAA Div III All-American). And honestly, it’s the former whose cardio, constant pressure, and experience at featherweight will likely edge these potential exchanges.

In contrast, there’s a chance we might not see any or limited grappling exchanges. In this scenario, I must side with Evloev once more. We all know he’s the best wrestler in the division, but this has allowed him to home in on that striking, and his boxing, in particular, has come leaps and bounds.

In recent bouts, we’ve watched Evloev pick his kickboxing moments carefully, with precise accuracy and a beautiful ability to reset after combinations where he’s instantly in defensive mode for any counter-striking backlash. Aljo’s best weapon on the feet has been his kicks, but with the takedown threat, they’ll be nullified. With the potential of a straight-up boxing scrap, the former bantamweight champ will struggle with the jab and how Evloev can pivot to execute hooks and/or uppercuts but finish the sequence angled off and away from danger.

The MMA odds are slightly juiced in Evloev’s favor, and rightfully so. It’s never easy to fade a former champion, but as the Russian said, “He’s a champion of another division, not mine.” Either way, we get rich or die trying with the Evloev moneyline!

Lastly, can you believe this fight is on the prelims? Absolute madness! It’s co-main event-worthy!

  • Evloev is undefeated as a professional mixed martial artist
  • Evloev has won 8 consecutive decisions as a UFC featherweight
  • Sterling is a former bantamweight with just 1 win at 145lbs

UFC 310 2-Leg Parlay Picks

  • Ciryl Gane Moneyline (-360)
  • Movsar Evloev Moneyline (-250)
