Sports betting online markets expect a close fight between the heavyweights, who fight over three rounds on Friday night at Temecula, Calif.
Golm Turning Career Around
It wasn’t long ago when Golm lost three consecutive fights and his career was in jeopardy. Since then, he has gone 4-0, and he has won in style.
Bellator news shows that he defeated DJ Linderman by knockout, Brandon Hebert by arm triangle, Billy Swanson by TKO and Davion Franklin by rear naked choke.
It’s tough to disagree with that form, and now he finds himself in a main event fight with a chance to rise up the heavyweight ranks.
Golm believes he’ll be the champion by the end of 2023, and he’s respecting his opponent.
“I want to be a champ. By the end of the year, end of this year,” Golm said. “And I will.
“He finished a top-ranked opponent, and it was a knockout. Daniel James has been around the block, he’s a well-respected opponent. He’s not going to surprise me with anything, he’s not going to show me anything I haven’t seen before.”
The sportsbook has Golm at -150, which is expected given his recent form.
James Riding Winning Streak
He might be the +120 underdog with Bellator odds, but James has every chance to win and extend his winning streak.
His winning run started in 2021 when beating Tomas Pakutinskas by TKO, which was the same method of winning for his next three fights.
James has been getting his opponents out of the cage early, which makes him a threat against Golm.
Despite being a 41-year-old, James is super aggressive, and that’s usually a good thing for a heavyweight. He has every chance of landing a winning punch on Golm’s chin.
“I expect to see a guy get in the cage that’s coming out to do his job and do what he does in amazing fashion,” James said. “Just understand that my presence will be felt when I walk into the arena, walk into the hotel, walk into the cage. They’re gonna feel my presence. And I want to let that presence be known when I finish the fight.”
