While Alexander Volkanovski holds the title, Max Holloway is not getting another title shot. But he’ll do the next best thing: whoop on the top contenders the UFC sends his way. The former champion is a favorite on the UFC Fight Night odds as he meets Arnold Allen, who is undefeated in the UFC. If Holloway has “still got it,” this will be another “Blessed” experience.
Does Holloway Still Have It?
At some point in their careers, great fighters lose their mojo. Maybe it’s one brutal loss or the accumulation of damage from repeat wars. Holloway has been through the wringer with Volkanovski. The champion dominated him in their last fight and it may have been the kind of fight that saps Holloway’s primality.
But on the flip side, Holloway is 31 years old. He’s been through so many wars but he’s still physically at his prime. That’s why he remains a popular UFC pick and the online sports betting favorite here. We’re talking about the man who set UFC records in significant strikes landed in a fight and he who averages 7.24 landed per minute.

Volkanovski was the greatest UFC fighter of 2022 so losing to him does not make Holloway look bad. If anything, Holloway could put on another show as he did against Calvin Kattar following his second loss to Volkanovski. Until he starts to fade, Holloway is worth betting online.
Allen Will Be Tested By The Second-Best
Allen has been tested many times in his UFC run. He did find himself in tough positions in fights against Nik Lentz and Makwan Amirkhani. These were long ago and he’s evolved into a top-five fighter. But being tested by the former champion who will box his face off is another thing. The Englishman will have to fight a five-round bloody war.
But for Allen to break UFC news with his biggest victory, he cannot try to outbox Holloway. Otherwise, he’ll get run over by the “Blessed Express.” What Allen needs to do is to whittle Holloway with leg kicks and mix it up. He cannot be a stationary target nor can he keep up with Holloway’s pace.
If Allen does compromise Holloway’s lower body, it may weaken Holloway. He’ll be a bit slower and he won’t be able to sit on his punches. Allen needs to do this quickly as Holloway gets stronger as the fight goes on. But if Allen manages to chip away enough at Holloway, he may just collect his biggest scalp.
Holloway vs Allen Head-to-Head
Holloway is three inches taller and two years older than Allen. The underdog has the one-inch reach advantage and strikes in the southpaw stance. The Hawaiian strikes in orthodox and has 26 UFC fights to Allen’s 10.

Holloway vs Allen Picks & Prediction
At some point, all of Holloway’s wars will catch up with him. And he may only be 31, but he may be a step slower than he used to be. While he is the rightful favorite here, Allen could just be his match. The underdog will slow Holloway down and drag this fight out to a decision, which could even lean Allen’s way.
