Most of the early betting confidence with UFC odds is for Nate Landwehr, who fights Doo-Ho Choi in the featherweight division on Saturday night.

Landwehr is the -140 favorite to improve his 18-5 record, but Choi is a tough customer at 15-4-1, so he can’t be overlooked on the main card at UFC 310 in Las Vegas.

Landwehr vs Choi Betting Analysis

Momentum with Favorite

The older fighter has only a winning percentage of 36% in the UFC, but 36-year-old Landwehr could turn the tables on that UFC betting stat.

He scored a knockout win over Jamall Emmers at UFC on ESPN in March, and he should be ready to fire against Choi on Saturday, who we believe could be out of his depth on the main card of a PPV event.

While Landwehr is favored at -140, we priced him at -175. Bettors get value odds for the American, who was scheduled to fight Pat Sabatini in March, so the UFC holds him in high regard.

He has been rewarded with a UFC 310 spot on the main card and our best UFC picks believe he’ll make full use of it with. Landwehr has beaten some credible fighters, including David Onama and Darren Elkins, so there’s no reason why he can’t measure up.

He talked about his loss to Dan Ige, where he got a touch reckless in the final round.

“I was hyper-aggressive, came out swinging, took a little bit more damage. I’m going to try to protect myself this time, but I’m just going to come out guns blazing, swinging, and we’re going to see what happens,” Landwehr said.

Bettors should expect a more composed Landwehr, and that was evident with his first round KO in March.

Underdog Value with Choi?

It was hard not to be impressed by Choi’s second-round knockout of Bill Algeo in July, and that’s why he’s being respected at +110.

The 33-year-old South Korean has been in the UFC since 2014, so he’s an experienced customer. However, with limited wins since 2018, we’re worried about his ability to win on Saturday.

He was knocked out by Jeremy Stephens in 2018 before being knocked out by Charles Jourdain in 2019. He has had only one fight since losing to Jourdain, with two fights cancelled in 2021 and 2023.

Not having recent experience will count against him, and although he was impressive in his return, Landwehr is a different beast. That’s why we’re not including him in our UFC expert betting picks, but we still respect his ability and his perseverance.

We expect his +110 odds to drift a touch on fight night. American fighters are typically best-backed late in the market, so if you want Choi on your ticket, it could pay to wait.

Online betting odds have Landwehr at +335 to win by knockout, and we’re biting on those odds more than Mike Tyson on his gloves.

He has knockout power, as seen when knocking out Emmers, and we think a repeat could be on the cards for the betting favorite.

Choi is a fighter who is reckless at times, and he has been knocked out more times than he would like to remember in the UFC.
