We don’t know about a “battle of good versus evil”, but it’s going to be a brutal affair when Bryce Mitchell meets Jean Silva this UFC 314. The UFC odds favor the latter as he’s been on a tear. But Mitchell is a top 10-caliber fighter and has the edge on the ground. Our best bet here is to expect a finish, as this fight can only go one of two ways this Saturday.

Best Prop and Round Betting Picks for Mitchell vs Silva

  • Fight Does Not Go the Distance (-210)

We have this fight ending in a finish either way. When you bet on the UFC props, a “fight does not go the distance” line is at -200. This is steep but also covers a late finish, which under 2.5 rounds (-165) does not. Silva will either starch Mitchell, who has poor striking, or the proud Arkansan drags him to the mat and submits him.

Silva is the likelier winner here, as the odds suggest. He is 4-0 in the UFC with all four victories coming via finish. He uses his fists to achieve destructive results as he’s put away tough veterans like Drew Dober and Charles Jourdain. On top of that, Silva’s camp, the Fighting Nerds, have been on a roll. So we expect the momentum to carry over.

On the flip side, we can’t underwrite Mitchell too much. He’s coming off a third-round finish of Kron Gracie. While a majority of his wins have gone to decision, he is prolific on the mat and can exploit Silva here if he makes a mistake. It’s unlikely to happen, but the UFC fight odds tonight have Mitchell to win by submission at +400, which is his most likely method to victory. This prop we’re offering covers this as well.

Bet on Fight Not To Go The Distance (-235)

  • Silva Wins By Round 1 KO

Yes, we like Silva to win at -270. He makes a solid UFC pick for parlays or a straight bet. But for a better bang for your buck, take a shot on Silva to finish Mitchell in Round 1 and via knockout. Silva is unlikely to submit Mitchell unless he hurts him, then follows up with a submission. He’s likelier to just put him out with well-placed punches as Josh Emmett did.

Ten of Silva’s 15 wins have come in the first round, which include his first and most recent UFC fights. Silva lit up Melsik Baghdasaryan. Mitchell is a novice at striking, landing just 2.31 significant strikes per minute versus 5.26 from Silva. If he can’t take Silva down, he’ll get his ass kicked.

Our UFC prediction today is for Silva to finish Mitchell quickly. Bet on a Round 1 KO from the Brazilian.

Bet on Jean Silva by KO/TKO/DQ and Round 1 (+300)
