No exaggerations are necessary here: Saturday is a big one for sports fans. The NHL hits a fever pitch as teams desperately fight for a Stanley Cup Playoffs spot while UFC 300 goes live in Las Vegas with three title fights. First, though, we kick off with a grimy soccer match in New York. Bank on the NYCFC in your soccer parlays today and in this cross-sport edition.

Weekend Parlay Best Bets

1.UFC 300: Sterling (-165) Breaks Kattar

There are plenty of solid UFC picks to use for this parlay. But we’re most confident with Aljamain Sterling given the online sports betting lines. The former bantamweight champion has a significant grappling edge over his opponent, Calvin Kattar. And moving up in class with a seven-month layoff will benefit him even more.

Sterling is much sharper when he has less pressure and more time to train. The additional weight can only help him with his grappling game, which is arguably the best in the UFC right now. He’s out-grappled wrestlers and submitted top contenders in the past.

Additionally, Sterling is fighting an opponent coming off a knee injury and a 17-month layoff. Two of Kattar’s four UFC losses have also come against grapplers. This is not an ideal fight for him as he will not get a chance to assert his striking. Parlay Sterling with confidence.

2. MLS: NYCFC (-130) Stops the Revolution

It brings us no joy as fans to include a matchup this ugly for our parlay. New York City FC is just 1-2-4 and -4 for the season. But why is it a -130 favorite? That’s because it’s hosting an even worse New England team that is just 1-1-4 and -6. On top of that, the Revolution are 0-2-8 in their last 10 away matches.

This is not so much a vote of confidence for NYCFC as it is an indictment of the Revolution. New England has managed just one goal in their last three away matches. And NYCFC, as subpar as they have played, is good enough to keep this a low-scoring affair.

Thus, we’re betting online on the NYCFC to hold serve at home. New York City is 5-2-3 in its last 10 home matches and is +6 in this span. They also out-possessed their opponents seven out of 10 times. Don’t overthink this and parlay the home club.

3. NHL: Maple Leafs (-175) Light Up Red Wings

Detroit is fighting for its playoff life and that will work against it when playing Toronto. The Red Wings have been making mistakes, which has led to some close losses against Pittsburgh and Washington. They beat Buffalo 3-1 but have lost to nearly every other playoff-caliber team.

The Maple Leafs are 6-2 in their last eight games and 8-3 in their last 11 home games against Detroit. And Toronto has plenty of depth with William Nylander, a 40-goal scorer, playing on the third line. On top of that, Detroit gives up over 34 shots and nearly 3.6 goals as a visitor.

Those stats won’t cut it as Toronto is a top-10 team in overall offense from 5-on-5 to power play. Whether this is a high-scoring, back-and-forth game or a blowout for Toronto, the moneyline is a solid choice to put into the best NHL parlays today.
