Nickal vs Pickett Prediction, Fight Preview, Live Stream, Odds and Picks

Unbeaten Middleweight Big Favorite

UFC lines have Bo Nickal at -1800 to continue his impressive unbeaten MMA run.

He comes up against Jamie Pickett, who is no easy beat. However, the sportsbook has Pickett at +800 to score an upset win.

Nickal Makes UFC Debut

Wrestling phenom Nickal makes his long-awaited UFC debut after destroying his opponent in Dana White’s Contender Series.

The 27-year-old has been patiently handled by the organization, and it’s clear that he has a big future.

If the NCAA Division 1 wrestler doesn’t get you on the ground, you have done well. However, he also has a good stand-up game with some power.

Many believe he will contest for the middleweight title at some stage, and although he has had only three professional fights, it’s hard not to be excited about his chances.

For those who bet on UFC, he’s a must-see fighter, as the market suggests.

Coach Mike Brown doesn’t want people to get too far ahead of themselves, as Nickal has already spoken about facing Khamzat Chimaev or Israel Adesanya.

“He’s obviously very young in his MMA career,” Brown said. “He has like three minutes of professional MMA experience. He’s very young in his career, but if you look at his wrestling résumé, I mean, he’s one of the greatest college wrestlers ever. He’s close to the greatest wrestler ever. You’d obviously have to say Cael Sanderson is the No. 1 college wrestler ever, but Bo was up there”.

“He’s one of the greatest athletes to ever come out of the sport.”

We expect most UFC picks to feature Nickal, especially in parlays.

Worth Picking Pickett?

It’s going to be tough for bettors to pick Pickett, who is not only the despised outsider at +800 with UFC odds, but he’s coming off some bad losses.

The 34-year-old lost to Denis Tiuliulin via TKO at UFC 279, which followed a submission loss to Kyle Daukaus.

Pickett hasn’t been facing easy opponents, but it’s not a good sign for an ageing fighter to be getting knocked out.

He now faces a stellar wrestler in Nickal, who shouldn’t take long to get Pickett to the ground and wrap a choke around his neck. It could be only a matter of time, so UFC news is correct in predicting a quick fight.

It’s expected to be so one-sided that the total rounds is set at 1½ and the over is +220. There is a lot of money for the fight to be over in the first round, so it’s not a good sign for the underdogs’ chances.
