Expect Action-Packed Flyweight Bout
We can’t wait for Alex Perez vs Manel Kape because we know there is going to be a lot of action, especially with Las Vegas odds.
The flyweights could steal the show on Saturday, and although UFC lines have Kape as the favorite, Perez has earned his chance to move up the rankings.
The Vera vs Sandhagen card is stacked with quality fights and this is one of them.
Perez Needing Consistency
The 31-year-old Perez hasn’t won since beating Jussier Formiga at UFC 250 in 2020. Since then, it has been nothing but losses and missed fights.
He suffered a first-round submission loss to Deiveson Figueiredo, which wasn’t unexpected with sport betting odds. However, his submission loss to Alexandre Pantoja last year wasn’t good enough.
It shows that he has a weak point with his grappling, so if he wants to beat Kape, he needs to work on that. He has also had five cancelled fights over the last year, so bettors have become frustrated.
Bouncing back from consecutive losses is never easy, especially in a competitive flyweight division. We would have loved to have seen him fight Kai Kara-France at UFC 284, but that fight was also cancelled.
If the 24-7 fighter can produce his best, the UFC Fight Night odds of +145 are value. However, bettors are taking a risk with the underdog.
Kape Riding Three-Fight Streak
Kape won his last three fights, which is excellent form. The Angolan scored a decision win over David Dvorak in 2022, which followed a knockout win over Zhalgas Zhumagulov.
That was a quality win for the 29-year-old, who has always had the ability to beat high-level fighters in the UFC. He also knocked out Ode Osbourne in 2021, which came in the first round.
There is a lot of power with Kape, and as UFC news reported, he believes he’s the perfect flyweight.
“It’s not that I believe; I know that I’m one of the number one or the number two best in the world in the flyweight division”, Kape said. “This position for me is not a surprise; this is something I deserve because I’ve been working. This is just the beginning”.
“This is what’s important in the flyweight division. Be fast, be ferocious, because things can happen quickly. I’m the perfect flyweight.”
Online gambling lines are right to have Kape at -175. He is the better fighter at the moment, especially with Perez’s recent struggles.
