Tafa vs Lane: Bet on Kiwi KO at UFC 293

We’re looking forward to seeing Justin Tafa vs AustenLane, which could be one of the more exciting fights on the UFC fight card.

UFC betting odds have Tafa at -200 as the New Zealand fighter eyes a knockout victory against 12-3 Lane.

The sportsbook is putting faith in the 6-3 fighter, despite his lack of experience compared to Lane, but it makes for an intriguing fight.

Two for Tafa

Kiwi knockout artist Tafa looks to score his second win in the UFC after beating Parker Porter with ease at UFC 284.

The 29-year-old, who was born in Auckland before moving to Australia, took just 56 seconds to beat Porter, who isn’t an easy fighter to KO.

Tafa landed just eight punches, but he only needed one to land on the chin to win the fight, and that’s why UFC odds have him so short in betting markets.

“It was perfect, other than no bonus (laughs),” Tafa said. “I couldn’t have asked for a better performance, especially in front of my family and my kids.

“I think it’s more just waiting for the knockout to come kind of thing, rather than seeking it.”

He’s often the shorter fighter, but he has grenades for fists, and if he gets close to Lane, we expect him to score a convincing victory.

UFC betting markets have him at -200, which is shorter than we thought he would be. However, there is confidence that he’ll produce the goods.

Lane Betting Underdog for a Reason

Lane is a former NFL player turned MMA fighter, and he might have made the right decision.

He is riding a six-fight win streak, including a victory on Dana White’s Contender Series last year.

His UFC debut came against Tafa, but after an accidental eye poke to Tafa after 29 seconds, the fight was called off.

That came in June, so he has been training since, and now he needs to fight Tafa in front of a home crowd, which is an unfortunate circumstance for Lane.

Las Vegas UFC odds aren’t giving him much chance at +165, and that could have something to do with his age. He started his career late, and the 35-year-old hasn’t faced someone with Tafa’s power.

The older fighter loses around 65% of fights in the UFC, so that’s the task awaiting Lane in Sydney.

Tafa vs Lane Head-to-Head

This is the second meeting between Tafa and Lane. The first ended after 29 seconds, with Lane landing 3/6 strikes and Tafa landing 0/3, but it’s hard to get an accurate guide based on that fight.

Avoid Live Betting, Go for KO Bet Now

Bettors might not get a chance to wager with UFC live betting odds. Tafa is going for the early knockout, and we’re backing the Kiwi.

He is -155 to win by KO, TKO, or submission, and we can’t see him winning any other way. It’s knockout or nothing for the favorite, and he should move to 2-0 in the UFC with a devastating win against Lane.
