My Picks for the Best Parlay Bet for UFC 306

Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Aoriqileng: Backing the Mexican Teenage Sensation

Can you imagine being 19 years old and preparing to compete in the opening fight of one of the biggest UFC pay-per-view events of 2024? It’s nothing more than a dream for most, but Mexico’s Raul Rosas Jr. is in this exact spot for Noche UFC, and with a return fight following back-to-back stoppage wins, his confidence has to be flying higher than ever.

It’s commendable that the UFC isn’t rushing Rosas Jr. up the bantamweight rankings. He is 19 years old with a 9-1 pro record, and he still has a lot of experience to collect, but boy, he looks impressive thus far. Despite losing to a very talented Christian Rodriguez, he proved his durability and toughness in said bout, and outside of that, he’s running through the competition effortlessly.

Let’s cut the crap; matchmakers have placed Aoriqileng as Rosas’s next opponent (Or victim) as the first fight of their event focused on Mexican heritage in combat sports for a reason… They want the show to begin with a bang as one of their finest Mexican prospects is undoubtedly live to achieve this.

Bet This Pick: Rosas Jr. By KO/TKO or Submission (-325)

Finish Him!

Sure, the MMA betting odds are ridiculously juiced, but the under and stoppage props are also sipping a lot of OJ. This is by no mistake; Aoriqileng is a mean, heavy-hitting SOB, but a consistent struggle for the “Mongolian Monster” has been takedown defense, transition ability, and avoiding ground control.

What do you know? Rosas Jr. is a slick grappler with a potent submission record. Behind his youthful vigor, high energy, and surprisingly physical frame, he’ll have his way with the Chinaman. Whether it’s a club and sub, transition to back mount, or a straight-up knockout (grounded or standing), it’s difficult to look beyond the UFC’s latest golden boy grabbing himself a third consecutive win inside the distance in a contest that’s seemingly hand-crafted to suit his style.

By the fight’s end, we’ll all be waiting for the patented “Chiwiwi.”

  • Eight of Rosas Jr.’s 9 pro-MMA bouts were won by KO/TKO or submission
  • All of Rosas Jr.’s UFC wins were by KO or submission
  • Aoriqileng has lost 50% of his UFC bouts
  • Aoriqileng has lost 4 fights inside the distance during his pro-MMA career

As always, remember to check the latest UFC news before placing your bets.

Brian Ortega vs. Diego Lopes: A Star Is Born

A funny haircut with loads of tattoos, a likable personality, alongside a nasty ability to finish fights inside the octagon. It’s safe to say Diego Lopes has that star quality. As one of the fastest-rising Brazilan fighters in the UFC, he’s now entering the most important fight of his career versus an ever-dangerous and well-respected Brian Ortega.

Some would argue that Lopes is already a star. After dropping a short-notice debut versus one of the featherweight division’s top contenders, Movsar Evloev, he instantly earned the respect of fans and critics for putting up such a valiant effort. Since then, it’s been an upward trajectory for the Amazonas native, including three straight KO/TKO and submission wins and a huge dub over top-ranked Dan Ige in a fight he accepted on a few hours’ notice.

Lopes was set to tussle with Ortega at UFC 303 before Ige stepped in on super-short notice. Still, after the hype and disappointment, the UFC knew to rebook this highly anticipated showdown as two of the slickest jiu-jitsu practitioners will battle before the co-main and main event.

Bet This Pick: Lopes Moneyline (-190)

Lopes Moneyline Reasoning

While our online sportsbook continues favoring Lopes, we should always respect Brian Ortega’s experience and impressive fight history. Often referred to as ‘T-City’ due to his emphatic triangle hold capabilities and all-around jiu-jitsu skillset, he’s a twelve-fight veteran who’s fought some of the most recognizable names at 145 lbs.

The problem for Ortega will be his attempts at finding success on the mat, as he goes toe-to-toe with a fellow BJJ black belt who’s arguably just as, if not more, dangerous on the ground. It’s a tale as old as time: Two talented grapplers cancel each other out, thus resulting in a stand-up battle.

I wouldn’t discount the potential of some grappling exchanges, but with two similar elite skill sets, I have to believe the greater kickboxer will walk out victorious. Based on what we’ve seen from both men’s striking to date, I have to side with Lopes.

Ortega has unquestionably leveled up his striking after garnering experience against the likes of Volkanovski, Holloway, and Yair Rodriguez, but more often than not, he’s losing striking exchanges, and the pop on Lopes’ shots might make him lose confidence.

Lopes has the power, speed, and forward aggression, whereas Ortega is more of a volume striker who’s only trading blows to eventually find the takedown. When the takedown isn’t available, I envision Lopes beating him up on the feet, and variables such as trajectory and activity also seem to favor the Brazilian as the icing on the cake.

  • Ortega has lost 3 of his previous 5 UFC bouts
  • Lopes has won 4 straight UFC bouts since August 2023
  • 22 of Lopes’ career wins came by KO/TKO or submission

Noche UFC 2-Leg Parlay

  • Rosas Jr. by KO or Submission [-325]
  • Lopes Moneyline [-190]
