With Friday evening the start of the weekend, it would seem this weekend’s combat sports festivities will involve Mike Tyson, Jon Jones, and Stipe Miocic. I’m not sure what happened to the security at local retirement homes, but the OGz are coming out to play, and we’re here for it!
UFC 309 comes live from the historic Madison Square Garden on Saturday, and while there’s no comparison to Ali vs Frazier, the 13 fights in store aren’t too shabby for the casual fight fan and diehard alike.
As you top-up the beer fridge – Yes, real fight fans have dedicated beer storage – and refill the snack cupboard, which was left empty from Friday’s Netflix boxing spectacle, take a peek at my weekend MMA parlay picks below, which is guaranteed to cash because I’m that damn good.
If you don’t know, now you know.

2 Best UFC Parlay Picks for Nov 16
1. Bo Nickal vs. Paul Craig: Old Man ‘Bearjew’ is Doomed!
UFC betting fans might call him Bo Nickal, but for the purpose of this article, we’ll rename him, Bo Grand, because that’s how much he will boast my bankroll at MSG this weekend.
Listen, I’ve heard it all: “Bo hasn’t fought anyone as tough as Craig,” “Bo is finally fighting an established opponent in Paul Craig,” “Bo will get exposed; he’s only had six pro-MMA fights.” And guess what? Those words mean nothing to me.
Nickal, aged 28, is a three-time Div-1 NCAA collegiate wrestling champion. He’s finished all six of his opponents inside the distance, and the UFC has placed him on pay-per-view main cards since his debut. Why has the UFC placed him on main cards despite his lack of experience and small record? Well, that’s simple because they’re building a future star and giving him winnable fights to develop his in-cage experience and resume.
Bet This Pick: Craig vs Nickal Under 1 ½ Rounds [-170]
⚔️ Bo Nickal knockout 💥

Obvious Value, Bet the Under
No offense if you’re Scottish, but Paul Craig isn’t that guy. He submitted Magomed Ankalaev six years ago. After getting battered for three rounds, I might add. Yes, he’s no slouch in the jiu-jitsu department. However, we just watched him get starched by grappler Caio Borralho in a fight where the promotion clearly wanted to boost the up-and-comer’s stock/ranking, and 7 of his 8 UFC losses were by knockout or submission.
Craig is nothing more than a lamb to the slaughter for the rising talent in the UFC, and with Bo’s insane wrestling credentials, athleticism, and punching power, ‘Bearjew’ will be lucky to make it out of the first round.
I know, the UFC betting odds are ridiculous on Bo’s moneyline. The under 1 ½ rounds, however, are sitting there looking pretty and make the perfect first leg of our parlay. Bo Nickal has seen over 1 ½ rounds in just 1 of his 6 pro-MMA appearances, and Craig’s seen under 1 ½ rounds in 3 of his last 4 UFC losses.

Under 1 ½ Rounds Supporting Betting Trends:
- Craig has seen under 1 ½ rounds in 6 of his previous 9 UFC bouts
- Bo Nickal has finished all 6 of his opponents in round 1 or 2
- Bo Nickal has won under 1 ½ rounds in all but one of his pro-MMA contests

2. Marcus McGhee vs. Jonathan Martinez: Power Trumps Finesse
We all aspire to be as cool as Marcus McGhee. When he isn’t grinding rails on a skateboard and smoking weed, the Motor City representative can be found bouncing heads in a UFC octagon.
Aged 34, with a 9-1 pro record, sure, McGhee’s a little late to the dance, but this hasn’t bothered him under the bright lights of the UFC thus far, where he’s finished three opponents by submission or knockout consecutively.
In most cases, it would be best to avoid overlooking Jonathan Martinez’s veteran talents. However, after collecting a six-fight win streak between 2021 and 2023, he was completely outclassed by an aging Jose Aldo, and the holes exposed in his game seem to match the type of fighter McGhee has presented himself as. Bet on his moneyline at BetUS Sportsbook.
Bet This Pick: McGhee Moneyline [-145]
“It’s going to be beautiful.”
Marcus McGhee aims to make it four-for-four inside the Octagon when he faces Jonathan Martinez at #UFC309.

Backing McGhee Because He’s a Maniac
By watching his past bouts, you’d never know McGhee was 34 with just ten professional fights to his name. As a product of the MMA Lab, watching him wrestle and tap opponents isn’t surprising. Still, when he opted to stand and bang with a Muay Thai striker in Gaston Bolanos last time out, he truly proved he’s capable of mixing it up, and a blistering flurry of punches brought his punching power to everyone’s attention.
Now, conveniently, he’s facing another muay Thai-style striker in Martinez, who’ll happily hang around, be patient with the offense, and wait for openings. In the meantime, ‘The Maniac’ will be pushing the pace, removing the space, and looking to take his head off!
There’s something special about McGhee, and although I hate to use this corny term, he’s got that aura. Better yet, the MMA odds are perfect and will boost our parlay to +177!
McGhee Moneyline Supporting Betting Trends:
- McGhee is 9-1 as a pro
- McGhee has finished all his UFC bouts inside the distance (3-0).
- McGhee has never gone the distance as a professional
Looking over the tape for Jonathan Martinez VS Marcus McGhee and boy, McGhee’s straight shots are dangerous.
For someone that just walks forward in a Muay Thai stance this is bad for Jonathan.
The wide stance and movement of McGhee will be good for JM’s leg kicks. #UFC309 pic.twitter.com/Y9kT9egl3K
