The Super Bowl might have everyone’s attention this Sunday, but before Mahomes battles it out with Hurts, Dana’s octagon warriors will put on a show in Sydney, Australia, when UFC 312 comes to town.

Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis will compete for the middleweight championship, but more importantly, we have 13 fights to dissect and create the perfect parlay for my fellow betting nerds.
Let’s take a look at what UFC odds have to offer and find the best parlay picks.

Weili Zhang vs Tatiana Suarez
When it comes to women’s MMA, I’m one of the biggest Weili Zhang fanboys, and honestly, I can’t remember a time when I faded her at BetUS Sportsbook. She’s a complete fighter who’s defeated some of the most recognizable names in the sport, but aged 35, with an undefeated wrestling savant standing in front of her, I worry about her chances of retaining the strawweight title this weekend.
Although it pains me to say it, we must look at the facts, and she’s not the best online bet here. One of Zhang’s biggest weaknesses is her takedown defense. Now, she’s facing the most skilled wrestler the strawweight division has ever seen. Remember Carla Esparza? Yeah, she used to hold that recognition as the best wrestler, and then Tatiana Suarez arrived to show Carla what’s up by taking her down nine times!
Aged 35, I don’t see a prime Zhang anymore (sad face). I’m not saying she should retire, but we watched her get dropped and nearly finish on multiple occasions in her last bout versus Xiaonan Yan. Before that, her successful title wins were against aging fighters at the end of their respective careers: Amanda Lemos, Carla Esparza, and Joanna Jedrzejcyk. No, Suarez is no spring chicken at 34, but she hasn’t been through the same wars and has the kryptonite to Zhang’s game.
After battling thyroid cancer and being denied a chance at Olympic gold for wrestling, Tatiana Suarez earned a UFC contract 💪

Bet This Pick: Tatiana Suarez ML [-130]
And New…
The MMA betting odds on opening presented some great plus-money for Suarez, but unfortunately, that moment has long passed. There is no point in crying over spilled milk, though, and at -125, Suarez is a great parlay booster, as we should anticipate two words from Bruce Buffer following Saturday’s co-main event: “And new.”
Suarez Moneyline Supporting Betting Trends:
- Suarez is undefeated as a pro (10-0)
- Zhang’s previous four wins were against fighters aged between 35-40
- Suarez is arguably the best women’s wrestler in the UFC
- Zhang’s primary defensive concern is takedowns

Aleksandre Topuria vs Colby Thicknesse
Historically, siblings competing in the UFC haven’t garnered similar success. The Nogueiras and Diaz bros might be the exception, but the Burns, Walkers, Pettis, Serras, and Ruas of the world have often presented one brother who isn’t as talented as the other. So, the brother of the featherweight champion, Aleksandre Topuria, making his UFC debut this weekend, might receive some auto bets but also some caution from those aware of brotherly trends in the UFC.
I’m here to tell you that Aleksandre isn’t as good as his brother, but he’s no can like the skill differential between Gilbert and Herbert Burns. Is he a worthy MMA pick at -355 odds? No, but I also don’t believe that any UFC newcomer is worth such a price without proving themselves first.
Fortunately, Topuria is fighting a fellow debutant. More to the point, his opponent, Colby Thicknesse, is a short-notice replacement who isn’t arriving in Sydney for a full fight camp, and Alexander Volkanovski will be in his corner. Yes, it’ll be team Topuria vs team Volkanovski once again, and unfortunately for the local Aussies, one simply doesn’t fade the Topuria clan.
Merab Dvalishvili has now arrived in Sydney, Australia to support Aleksandre Topuria at #UFC312 🤝

Bet This Pick: Aleksandre Topuria ML [-355]
Always Bet the Topuria Clan
No disrespect to Thicknesse, but Topuria will mess this guy up. The grappling style of Thicknesse won’t cause Big Brother Topuria any issues because, like his brother, he’s no slouch in the wrestling department but also thrives in striking situations.
And look, the regional scene footage of both fighters makes it difficult to gauge where they sit in terms of overall ceiling at a UFC level. But for me, the well-rounded display of MMA makes Topuria the pick, including the violent nature, reminiscent of his little brother, that he’s displayed in the cage thus far.
I will say the UFC betting odds are slightly juiced, but as a parlay piece, I have no issues supporting the -355 moneyline.
Topuria Moneyline Supporting Betting Trends:
Here are some UFC betting trends to consider
- Topuria has finished all 5 of his pro-MMA bouts by KO/TKO or submission
- Thicknesse will make his UFC debut
- Topuria will make his UFC debut
- Topuria is the older brother of the featherweight champion Ilia Topuria
