Is it that time of the week already? I guess time flies when you’re cashing UFC best bets, and this weekend at UFC Baku will be no different because I’ve meticulously crafted the perfect two-leg selection for Saturday’s ‘Punching Parlay.’

This coming Saturday will see the UFC make its debut appearance in Azerbaijan, and as this card is pretty well stacked with top-tier talent, I’ve had no trouble finding the perfect parlay selections, including some UFC player props, to help boost your bankroll!

It’s time!!

Top 2 UFC Baku Parlay Picks

1. Tagir Ulanbekov vs Azat Maksum: Ulanbekov by Submission or Decision (-300)

Russia’s Azat Maksum is regarded as one of the least talented members of Team Khabib Nurmagomedov. Still, even the least threatening fighter from the camp is a serious problem for most. With a 5-1 record and nine career wins by submission, this wrestling savant with dangerous BJJ could easily be a sleeper title challenger of the future, and his current betting odds versus a low-ranked foe reflect this.

In step, Azat Maksum, who despite being 1-1 in the UFC, probably should hold a 0-2 record because his UFC debut win over Tyson Nam presented some questionable judging. Unfortunately for him, relying on the judges might not be viable this weekend because he holds a wrestling-heavy skill set going against an opponent that’s arguably levels above him in this department.

Ulanbekov by Submission or Decision (-300)

Preparing for Kyoji Horiguchi

Ulanbekov was originally scheduled to face the formidable Kyoji Horiguchi in Baku, but the former of Bellator and RIZIN pulled out. Now, Ulanbekov is faced with an inexperienced and significantly less dangerous opponent, so you can’t help but think his training camp for this fight will be a huge advantage alone.

There’s a chance that this contest results in 15 minutes of wrestling, scrambling, and fighting for positions that drain the clock. Or, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Ulanbekov be so much better that he lands one of his patented submissions, or even outstrike Maksum significantly, as he’s the more precise and diverse striker of the two. Either way, the Russia favorite sits at -450 on the moneyline for a reason… He isn’t losing this fight or your UFC bets tonight!

Ulanbekov Sub/Decision Supporting Betting Trends

  • Ulanbekov has won all of his 16 pro MMA bouts by submission or decision
  • Maksum’s only notable career wins came on the MMA regional scene
  • Maksum has 0 wins over active UFC roster members
  • Ulanbekov has won 5 of his 6 UFC bouts by submission or decision

2. Rizvan Kuniev vs Curtis Blaydes: Fight Goes the Distance – No (-155)

Rizvan Kuniev… yet another heavyweight being pushed up the roster to receive a clear path into the top rankings without earning his spot. Are we surprised by this UFC news? Matchmakers have become so desperate for heavyweight talent that they have taken this approach multiple times, but is it wise to disrespect a UFC veteran like Curtis Blaydes on our UFC parlay picks?

We watched Blaydes crush a heavyweight prospect in Jailton Almeida, so it really wouldn’t be a shock if he made the newcomer look out of place. That said, Kuniev is a former PFL contender, and with a 13-2-1 pro record, nine of his wins ended inside the distance!

Fight Goes the Distance/No (-155)

Big Boys Equals Big KOs

Blaydes, who has fought the world’s best at heavyweight, is positioned with a -235 moneyline for this bout. While I see some serious value in backing a legitimate talent versus a UFC debutant, I can’t put 100% trust in the American’s chin.

For me, with the wrestling advantage clearly siding with Blaydes, and the fact that he can often stand and bang with the best of them, Kuniev will be a knockout or bust in Baku. With that said, backing this fight to end inside the distance feels valid.

Just as Blaydes has treated prospects in the past, he could easily put them out inside the distance. Kuniev, a fighter known for avoiding the judges, will likely be headhunting to fast-track himself into the top rankings in style… Either way, these big boys won’t be looking to score points, and I anticipate that unconsciousness might creep into this heavyweight slugfest, thus making UFC expert picks simple – this isn’t going the distance!

FDGTD Supporting Betting Trends

  • Kuniev has won by KO/TKO in 6 of his last 7 pro MMA bouts
  • Kuniev has gone the distance in just 1 of his last 10 pro MMA bouts
  • All 5 of Blaydes’ UFC losses were by KO/TKO
  • Blaydes has gone the distance in just 5 of his 13 UFC bouts

UFC Baku 2-Leg Parlay

  • Ulanbekov by Sub or Dec (-300)
  • Blaydes/Kuniev Fight Goes the Distance/No (-155)
