UFC Fight Night Props: Card Will Bang With or Without ‘Zuck’

There Better Be Plenty of Finishes For The Private Party

UFC Fight Night: Dern vs Yan Props

Maybe you’ve already heard of it. But rumors say that Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook (now Meta) god himself, has booked the UFC Apex this Saturday for a private party. Dana White shot down the rumors emphatically. Whether or not the “Zuck” himself will be there, this Saturday’s Fight Night is a good event for whoever wants to solo it. The UFC odds expect a lot of finishes. We sniped five worth betting online.

Costa Puts Cannetti Away Quickly

“There will be blood” perfectly summarizesSaturday’s curtain-jerker. Randy Costa (6-3-0) and Guido Cannetti (9-6-0) will throw down. Costa’s never been in a decision in his career and only one of Cannetti’s last four fights has gone to one. This fight will start fast and will end just as fast with Costa, the event’s second-largest favorite, putting the overzealous Cannetti away with a high kick.

  • Pick: Costa By KO/TKO/DQ and Round 1 (+105)

Oleinik Outlasts Latifi in Grappling Contest

Alexei Oleinik (60-16-1) and Ilir Latifi (15-8-0) collide in a big-boy matchup between grapplers. While this may end up being a sloppy striking affair, Oleinik is the type to pursue takedowns no matter what he’s up against. While Latifi is a strong man, he’s giving up too much size here. Oleinik will out grapple or outwork Latifi to a submission.

  • Pick: Oleinik By KO, TKO, DQ or Submission (+225)

Yusuff Methodically Breaks Shainis Down

Sodiq Yusuff (12-2-0) enters this fight with nothing to gain and everything to lose. He’s fighting a newcomer in Don Shainis (12-3-0) as the biggest favorite. That’s why he’ll take his time and fight technically. It won’t be exciting for the most part, so we can see Yusuff winning by a decision at +175. But take a dart throw for him to win late into the fight at +650. That may be the best UFC bet here.

  • Pick: Yusuff In Round 3 (+650)

Barcelos, Jones Will Finish it In the Octagon

Our pick for “Fight of the Night” is a feature bout between Raoni Barcelos (16-3-0) and Trevin Jones (13-8-0). These bantamweights throw heat and are fighting to snap two-fight skids. Barcelos has an advantage in his work rate and versatility, but Jones has the equalizer in his power.

We see this one going back and forth with both fighters having their moments. Barcelos could be leading the fight for the most part but Jones lands one or two clean punches that stuns Barcelos. As such, it’s surprising that the odds are even on this fight to not go to a decision. That’s worth a bet on the sportsbook.

  • Pick: Fight Doesn’t Go To Decision (Ev)

Dern Gets Through Feisty Yan

In the main event, Mackenzie Dern (12-2-0) fights Yan Xiaonan (15-3-0) in what could become a star-making performance for the winner. Of course, the UFC matchmakers, the odds, and likely the fans outside of China want Dern to win. She’s been a rising star since she entered the UFC. And she’s supposed to as she has the grappling to exploit Yan.

Our concern is Dern’s wrestling or lack thereof. Carla Esparza made short work of Yan because she is a tremendous wrestler. But Dern will have to find ways to get Yan to the mat, where she can submit her or at least dominate her for a clear decision. It won’t be as easy as Yan has trained wrestling extensively since losing to Esparza. But we like Dern to win.

Now the two props worth approaching here are either Dern to win by a decision at over 3-1 or for her to get a late finish at 33-1. Take your shot.

  • Pick: Dern By Points (+335)
  • Pick: Dern By Submission and Round 5 (+3300)
