UFC Fight Night Props

Thompson Confounds Muhammad

One does not simply beat the Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. In his career, most of Thompson’s (16-5-1) five losses have come against the elites of the division: former champion Tyron Woodley and two title challengers in Gilbert Burns and Darren Till. His karate style is something that most fighters can’t solve and this will include Belal Muhammad.

Muhammad (19-3-0) is on a five-fight win streak but he has consistently fallen short against the top of the division. His wrestling or his striking acumen is not strong enough to break through Thompson’s elusive defense. Bet online on Thompson to beat Muhammad by points.

Pick: Thompson To Win By Decision or Tec. Decision (Ev)

Meerschaert Adds to UFC Record

Bet ya didn’t know that Gerald Meerschaert holds the middleweight division’s record for most submission victories. The 47-fight veteran has finished seven of his eight victories by submission. He’s a bit like Charles Oliveira in that all he needs is an opening and he can submit anyone.

Dustin Stoltzfus has underwhelmed in his UFC tenure and got taken down three times in each of his last two fights, which he lost. Meerschaert (33-14-0) should be able to take down Stoltzfus (13-3-0) and submit him within the first two rounds. You can find any combos of Meerschaert to win by sub, but take the sub prop by itself at close to 2-1.

Pick: Meerschaert By Submission +175

Gamrot Makes Statement Against Ferreira

Mateusz Gamrot could be the next big thing out of Poland since former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. Gamrot (19-1-0) has been whipping UFC-caliber competition for the last four years and he hasn’t disappointed in his promotional debut: destroying veterans Jeremy Stephen and Scott Holtzman.

Carlos Diego Ferreira looks to be a big step up for Gamrot. But these fighters are in different stages of their careers with Ferreira (17-4-0) on the decline and coming off some brutal losses. Gamrot should pick him off by stuffing his takedowns and lighting him up for a stoppage victory by strikes.

Pick: Gamrot To Win By KO, TKO or DQ +300

Hill Stops The Lemos Hype Train

Opposite the Gamrot hype train is Amanda Lemos. This strawweight bruiser has blitzed through her competition, finishing three of her last four opponents with two coming via first-round knockout. So it’s understandable that the BetUS online sportsbook has her as the decided favorite here.

But we’re not buying into this hype. We saw battering rams like Maycee Barber get upset when she ran into a top-15 opponent. Angela Hill, despite her 13-10-0 record, won’t be a sitting duck for Lemos (10-1-1). She’ll take the fight to Lemos, withstand her early onslaught and edge her on the scorecards. At these odds, it’s worth a shot that the judges side with Hill.

Pick: Hill To Win By Decision or Tec. Decision +450
