Alex Perez vs Mohammad Mokaev Prop Betting Preview
Muhammad Mokaev (10-0-0), despite a significant backlash from critics who claim he isn’t as great as his record reads, entered the UFC in 2022 and has already collected five straight wins en route to placing himself as a top-ranked flyweight.
Sure, we can question his downfall in specific fights such as the Tim Eliot and Malcolm Gordon, where he snatched late submissions before entering a potential sticky scorecard. However, aged just 23 years old, his current potential boasts a high ceiling.
Alex Perez (24-7-0) is a veteran of the game and could certainly be the most accomplished flyweight Mokaev has fought to date. With that said, the argument to back this claim would be the level of competition he’s fought, but people are forgetting Perez has against all of the elite-level opponents he’s faced and now returns after two years on the sidelines.
UFC Vegas 87 Best Prop Bet 1: Under 2½ Rounds (-125)
Our UFC betting odds are juiced in favor of Mokaev, and that’s not a position we want to be in. Perez is a kill-or-be-killed type of fighter and has gone the distance in just 2 of his 9 UFC bouts to date, and this instantly sparks my interest in the under 2½ rounds.
Similar to his weekend opponent, Mokaev has gone the distance in just 3 of his 10 pro-MMA fights and in just one of his five UFC scheduled bouts thus far.
With finishing ability present in both fighter’s skill sets and a fair value of -125 for this fight to end in under 2½ rounds, it’s one of the very few pieces of respectable sportsbook price.
Under 2½ Rounds Supporting Trends:
- Mokaev has gone the distance in just one of his five UFC bouts
- Perez has seen under 2½ rounds in seven of his nine UFC bouts
Started off his UFC career with a bang and has been on a TEAR ever since 🔥@MuhammadMokaev looks to continue his dominance on Saturday! #UFCVegas87 pic.twitter.com/uSNNRzwjyA

Vitor Petrino vs Tyson Pedro Prop Betting Preview
Vitor Petrino (10-0-0), much like Mokaev, is another undefeated prospect who has stormed his respective division in less than twelve months. With three fights, three wins, and two stoppages, the Brazilian has displayed a fierce striking game and an even more impressive ground game.
Despite the unattractive pro record, Tyson Pedro (10-4-0) is reaching UFC veteran territory as 10 of his 14 professional career bouts have been fought under the company’s banner. He’s a menace in striking exchanges, has collected five wins by KO/TKO, and has only surpassed the first round in 2 of his previous 10 fights.
UFC Vegas 87 Best Prop Bet 2: Petrino by Submission (+335)
Like most favorite positions on this card, the MMA odds are sipping all the juice and then some. Considering Pedro’s KO threat, the moneyline on Petrino could be an issue. Although skill-for-skill, it’s difficult to ignore the Brazilian, who’s evidently the greater of the two in this regard.
The ground-game discrepancy leads me to believe Petrino is the side. While Pedro has a clear path to victory via his striking credentials, his opponent has the aggressiveness, durability, and complete skill set to finish this fight via KO/TKO or submission, with the latter being the smartest outcome to approach.
All I’m saying is if aging fighters in Mauricio Rua and Ovince St. Preux can knock out and submit Pedro, respectively, the potential of an undefeated, young, strong, skilled, and powerful fighter in Petrino is evidently present.
Petrino by KO or Submission Supporting Trends:
- Petrino has finished 8 of his 10 pro career wins by KO/TKO or submission
- Pedro has gone the distance in just 2 of his 10 UFC bouts
BIG TIME KO in his last outing 😮💨@VitorPetrino is coming for his 3rd straight finish Saturday night in the #UFCVegas87 co-main event!
