UFC Vegas 87 Betting Odds

Tyson Pedro vs Vitor Petrino Parlay Betting Preview

Expect brutality and violence during this weekend’s UFC Vegas 87 co-main event as an undefeated prospect, Vitor Petrino (10-0-0), meets Tyson Pedro (10-4-0) in the center of the octagon.

We’re looking at a fresh-faced newcomer holding an unblemished record – Petrino – and a savvy vet of the octagon – Pedro – who’s equally delivered a plethora of fight-ending highlight reel moments during their respective careers.

The best path to victory for Petrino looks to be a wrestling/grappling route, where he would take advantage of a lackluster takedown defense his opponent has displayed in the past. At the same time, it’s seemingly knockout or bust for Pedro as he’s struggled to find momentum outside of beating guys to a pulp via strikes within the initial five minutes of a contest.

UFC Vegas 87 Parlay Pick Leg 1: Fight To Go The Distance/No (-270)

So, our outright winner UFC bets tonight are slightly compromised with several wide lines, and Petrino is one of them. For those worried about Pedro’s knockout threat, it’s an understandable position, but I believe it’s safe to say the most probable outcome is that both of these fighters aren’t making it to the scorecards.

Knockout and submission potential sides with Petrino, and Pedro, well, he’s gone the distance in just 2 of his 14 pro-MMA bouts to date and boasts an impressive 100% finish rate in his victorious UFC bouts to date.

  • Petrino has won eight of his 10 pro bouts via KO/TKO or submission
  • Pedro owns a 100% finish rate (KO or Sub) as a UFC competitor

Bekzat Almakhan vs Umar Nurmagomedov Parlay Betting Preview

You have to feel sorry for Bekzat Almakhan (17-1-0), a man making his UFC debut versus one of the top pound-for-pound prospects and cousin of Khabib, Umar Nurmagomedov (16-0-0).

Now, being the cousin of arguably the greatest lightweight fighter in MMA history isn’t sufficient enough to argue for long-term success. However, unlike Khabib, Umar possesses a level of striking that can be matched with the bantamweight division’s finest.

Nobody wants to accept a fight with Umar, so he’s struggled to climb the ranks rapidly. But watch this space because, on paper, Almakhan has an impressive record of 17 wins and 1 loss, and although he’s un-ranked and making his debut, an impressive outing for #7 ranked Umar will position him closer to the division’s upper echelon. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s division champion by mid-2025.

UFC Vegas 87 Parlay Pick Leg 2: Fight To Go The Distance/No (-160)

Umar Nurmagomedov is the biggest betting favorite this weekend, and a -1200 ML price says it all. Almakhan has displayed excellent fundamentals in both striking and grappling situations on the regional MMA scene, but this step-up in competition is unheard of.

Respect the Kazakhstan native taking this fight, but it’s nothing more than a showcase for Umar, who will continue his dominance at 135 pounds until the title hangs from his waist. Critics will claim Almakhan’s toughness will take him to the scorecards, but we cannot pass up the valuable opportunity of this fight ending inside the distance.

Almakhan’s lone career loss was by submission versus an opponent’s name we aren’t about to spell, and he’s gone the distance in just 2 of his 18 pro bouts. For Umar, well, he’s beaten the crap out of everyone (4-0, UFC) and owns a 75% finish rate as a UFC fighter, and he’s only evolving to a higher level, fight to fight.

  • Nurmagomedov has won nine of his 16 career wins by KO/TKO or submission
  • Nurmagomedov has won three of his four UFC bouts inside the distance
  • Almakhan has gone the distance in just two of his 18 pro-MMA bouts

Javid Basharat vs Aiemann Zahabi Parlay Betting Preview

I’m not biased towards unblemished records, honest. Still, here we are, with yet another undefeated fighter in Javid Basharat, whom I expect to leave Vegas with another dub added to his impressive 14-0-0 pro record.

His opponent, Aiemann Zahabi, is no slouch, mind you! The problem for him in this contest will be the volume of Basharat, as he’s facing an incredibly high-output striker but has shown us the exact opposite during his career to date.

UFC Vegas 87 Parlay Pick Leg 3: Basharat By KO/TKO or Decision [-320]

Las Vegas odds are really toying with us this weekend, huh? Well, unfortunately, the skills of Javid Basharat have also been notified to oddsmakers, and finding value in the undefeated Afghan has been a struggle, to say the least.

However, as Zahabi is recognized for his BJJ abilities, offensively and defensively, the most likely paths to victory for the heavy favorite would be a decision or KO/TKO win, with the former being the most probable.

Zahabi is as tough as they come, and while he might be outclassed via the cardio, output, striking offensive, and even wrestling situations, he’s never been submitted during his professional tenure and durability is one of his notable attributes. I don’t expect Basharat, who’s gone the distance in all three of his UFC bouts to date, to buck that trend on Saturday night.

  • Basharat has won three consecutive bouts via decision
  • Zahabi’s pro career losses were by decision or KO/TKO
