Volkanovski Completes Trilogy on UFC Main Card

Trio of huge fights at UFC 276

Our mouths are watering at the three main-card fights at UFC 276, this Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in suburban Las Vegas. Included is the third, and potentially final fight. between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway.

UFC odds are also available for Sean Strickland vs Alex Pereira and Pedro Munhoz vs Sean O’Malley, so it could be an incredible UFC Fight night of action, headlined by Israel Adesanya vs Jared Cannonier.

Volkanovski vs Holloway

Bettors get fair odds for Volkanovski, who’s the featherweight champion and appear to have more longevity than Holloway.

There have been some controversial moments in the first two fights. Many claimed Holloway won at least one of them by decision, but the Australian was the victor on the judge’s scorecards.

Volkanovski is the -200 favorite at the sportsbook. Although it’s a short quote, he may have been a shorter price. Making short work of the Korean Zombie at UFC 273 (fourth-round knockout), he has looked invincible at times.

He doesn’t believe Holloway deserves another chance at his title.

“Max is known as ‘Blessed’ Holloway. And he is blessed to be given this third shot,” Volkanovski told Fox Sports.

“For the UFC to ask for it, then for me as champion to accept after already going two-zero, I think he’s in a very lucky position. So he should feel privileged and happy with this opportunity he’s got. Because I don’t think anyone in any other division gets this chance.”

Holloway is a +160 underdog, and likely needs a finish here. Volkanovski, because of his leg kicks, rarely loses rounds. We can’t see that happening, so take the champ to remain the champ.

Pick: Alexander Volkanovski (-200)

Strickland vs Pereira

There isn’t much between Strickland and Pereira in UFC betting markets, Pereira as the -130 favorite.

Pereira is just 5-1, and hasn’t faced excellent opposition in two fights, However, there has been plenty of betting support for the 34-year-old Brazilian.

He knocked out Andreas Michailidis before winning by decision against Bruno Silva, so he’ll need to improve to beat someone of Strickland’s experience.

Although not everyone’s favorite fighter, Strickland is 25-3 and with a class edge in here. The 31-year-old win (decision) over Jack Hermansson after an impressive win over the dangerous Uriah Hall.

Strickland hasn’t had a losing effort since UFC 224 back in 2018, so the even-money odds are worth grabbing in this one. We were expected him to be around -140, so to see the odds flipped is surprising.

Pick: Sean Strickland (Ev)

Munhoz vs O’Malley

Sean O’Malley is definitely one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC, and we’re firmly in his camp at UFC 276.

The 15-1 superstar has been poorly managed. He is clearly one of the best bantamweights in the company, fighting below his caliber on a regular basis.

However, he should make an impact against Munhoz, who’s a good fighter but doesn’t possess the same explosiveness as O’Malley. O’Malley is seeking his fourth consecutive knockout finish here.

Betting online markets have him at -300 to win, but there’s better value in knockout markets. He is +140 to win by KO, TKO, or submission. Those odds are far too good to defer, as we thought he’d be a much shorter price.

Pick: Sean O’Malley by KO, TKO or Submission (+140)
