The playoff picture is set after a dramatic Sunday in Major League Baseball. Drama is almost an understatement.
In the National League, the San Francisco Giants defeated the San Diego Padres for their 107th victory of the season. That enabled the Giants to clinch the National League West.
They were in a battle with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the honor. And Gable Kapler and his team needed the win as Los Angeles pounded Milwaukee to finish one game behind.
The Dodgers and their 106 victories now face a one-game Wild-Card clash with the St. Louis Cardinals. That will take place at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday.
BetUs will have all the odds and wagering options on its menu for every round of the playoffs, which culminate in the World Series.
American League
The AL was looking at a possible four-way tie and multiple games before the playoffs started, depending on what happened Sunday.
The New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays went at it in the Bronx.
No one scored … no one scored … no scored … until the bottom of the ninth.
Aaron Judge scored a liner to second. Brandon Lowe handled it on a hop and threw home but Tyler Wade beat the play at the plate and the Yankees had a Wild-Card slot.
Red Sox Earn Home Game
The Yankees still had a chance for a home game in the Wild-Card round. They needed the Boston Red Sox to lose to the Washington Nationals, forcing them into a 163rd game with the Toronto Blue Jays, who crushed the Baltimore Orioles.
The Red Sox fell behind Washington, 5-1, before starting a charge.
They tied the contest in the seventh inning.
In the ninth inning, Rafael Devers belted a two-run home run and the Red Sox were assured of having a home game Tuesday against their arch-rival Yankees.
One game between the Red Sox and Yankees at Fenway, you know, like in 1978.
