Aces to Eclipse Team Total at Atlanta

Atlanta Going Under

The Las Vegas Aces are a big road favorite in the WNBA lines when they begin a four-game trip against the injury-plagued Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night.

The Aces have dropped two of three games for the first time this season and averaged just 77.3 points over their past four outings – well below a league-leading mark of 93.1 – so you would expect them to change that trend soon.

Aces to Eclipse Team Total at Atlanta

A’ja Wilson, second in the Las Vegas WNBA odds for the league MVP at +140, leads Las Vegas with 21.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game after scoring 46 combined in the last two.

Atlanta has dropped five of its last seven games but stepped up to beat Chicago 78-67 on Friday. Second-leading scorer Rhyne Howard (17.5) missed that game due to injury and is questionable for Tuesday.

Allisha Gray tops the team in scoring (17.5) but suffered an ankle injury versus Chicago and is doubtful. The Dream averages 82.1 points for the season (fifth in the WNBA), but the under is 8-0 in the sportsbook in their last eight contests.

Trip Could Cure Aces

Las Vegas lost two of their last three at home, including the in-season WNBA Commissioner’s Cup championship game 82-63 to the New York Liberty on Aug. 15.

It just might be a good thing for Aces’ betters that they are heading out on the road to get back on track. Las Vegas averaged more than 95 points during a 4-0 trip in mid July if you are betting online.

Wilson has continued her strong play of late, but others need to pick it up. Kelsey Plum – +15000 to win the WNBA MVP in the live betting – averaged 14.5 points the last four games (4.2 below her season mark), while Jackie Young (18.3 points) scored 11 and Chelsea Gray (15.1) had 10 in the 78-72 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday.

The Aces are still a big favorite (-220) to win the league title in the Las Vegas odds.

Injuries Hamper Dream

If Howard and Gray can’t go, Atlanta will need a big effort to beat the healthy spread and score enough to break the streak for the under.

Cheyenne Parker is coming off a career game, though, as she poured in 29 points – more than double her current season average for Atlanta. Parker has scored at least 16 in five of seven games this month after doing it three times in 11 contests during July.

Dream guard Danielle Robinson scored 10 with seven assists in the win over Chicago after being blanked by Las Vegas in the previous contest.

Atlanta has committed the third-most turnovers per game in the league (14.2), which could be key to a bet on the WNBA spread for the contest.

The Dream are +12500 to win the WNBA title.

Aces vs Dream Head-to-Head

Las Vegas has won four straight meetings, including all three this season.

The Aces have won the last two matchups at home this month by 21 points each, but Atlanta kept it close on June 2 before falling 92-87 at home.

The under is 2-1 at the sportsbook in the three meetings this season. The Dream are 5-4 ATS in the last nine games against Las Vegas despite losing eight of them.

Wilson (20.7) and Young (20.3) have been productive against Atlanta in 2023 and Parker leads the Dream at 19.0 points per game in the series this year.

Aces vs Dream Picks and Prediction

Atlanta has to feel better after the win against Chicago, but if Howard and Gray can’t play, the task will be a tall order Tuesday.

Las Vegas might be an angry team coming to town and its lead for the top seed in the playoffs is just three games, so the Aces can’t take it easy the last eight regular-season contests.

The under is also 4-0 in the past four Las Vegas games, but see pregame warmups for injury updates. The inspiration if Howard is able to play could help the Dream beat the spread (-16) and help the over, but take the Aces to win.

The Aces are listed at -1000 in our Las Vegas WNBA odds. The Dream is +700.

Atlanta’s injuries are the biggest question mark, so take the Aces to surpass their team total of 92.
