Western Conference Leaders in Rematch

The Las Vegas Aces and Dallas Wings will meet for the second time in three days when the two go head-to-head on Friday. Though both sit in first and second, respectively, in the Western Conference, Las Vegas is eight games ahead of Dallas due to the Aces still only having lost one game this season.

The Aces defeated the Wings the first time around, and according to WNBA odds, they’re a heavy favorite to do so again in the rematch.

Aces Stay on Top

Las Vegas maintained the longest winning streak in the league, extending it to nine games, with a second-half comeback against the Wings.

After taking a 51-42 deficit into halftime, the Aces were able to come back in the second half, outscoring Dallas 47-31 in the second half to get the win.

Las Vegas was missing reigning All-Star MVP Kelsey Plum, but it had others step up with three reaching the 20-point mark, led by Jackie Young with 28 points.

The Aces’ success without one of their scoring leaders is a positive sign for their continued success and should continue to make them a strong WNBA pick going forward.

Wings Fall Short

Dallas nearly gave Las Vegas just its second loss of the season to extend its win streak to three, but it wasn’t able to hang onto a lead.

The Wings had a nine-point lead heading into halftime, but they struggled coming out of the break, allowing the Aces to go on a 13-4 run.

Despite a 32-point, 13-rebound performance from Natasha Howard, it wasn’t enough as Dallas couldn’t slow Vegas. The Aces had four players in double figures, including A’ja Wilson, who had a double-double of her own.

The Wings’ second-leading scorer, Satou Sabally, was also missing for the second half. Her return will be beneficial in the rematch, especially if the Aces are still without Plum.

Aces vs Wings Picks and Prediction

Both teams were missing key pieces in at least half of their first matchup, making it tougher to gauge how these teams will match up fully healthy.

However, Friday’s rematch should bring that answer as Plum is questionable while Sabally is likely to play. Las Vegas struggled in the early goings without Plum but was able to recover after Sabally’s exit. If Plum is missing again, that could make for another close game.

However, if both are good to go, Plum should add another layer to an already lethal Aces offense that will be tough to stop. With lineup questions remaining, it may be better to wait and see who’s available before taking advantage of some WNBA live betting odds.

The Las Vegas Aces are listed at -450 in our Vegas lines. This means that if you wager $100 on the Aces, you have a chance to win $22. The Dallas Wings are +350, offering a chance to win $350 on a $100 wager.

The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives the Las Vegas Aces an 81.82% chance to win, with the Dallas Wings at 22.22%.
