Vegas Out to Clip Wings
The Aces and the Wings clash Thursday night at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. This is the third and final regular season game between Las Vegas and Dallas, the Aces winning the two prior. The Aces are second overall in the WNBA with a 22-9 record, clinching a playoff berth as well as winning the Commissioner’s Cup (over the Chicago Sky). Meanwhile, the Wings are 14-16, trying to get into the postseason.
Aces No Jokers
The Las Vegas Aces have been dominant this season, leading the WNBA in scoring at 90.1 points per game. There are two of the top five WNBA scorers in Kelsey Plum and A’ja Wilson on the roster, but let’s discuss Plum.
Plum is averaging 20.2 points (second in league), 2.8 rebounds, and five assists just under a steal per game. She’s lethal, as in 42.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Playoffs in Air for Wings?
Dallas is participating in the WNBA’s version of musical chairs, as in too many back-end teams trying to squeeze into too few back-end berths in the postseason, The Wings have won their last couple, surprising the defending-champion Sky in Chicago last out. This isn’t a great team on offense, the third-worst shooting percentage (42.8%) in the league.
Guard Arike Ogunbowale is averaging 19.9 points (third in league), 3.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.5 steals per game.
Aces vs Wings Head-to-Head
The Las Vegas Aces and the Sportsbooks know the opposition all too well. The Aces defeated Dallas, 84-78, in early June, before a 92-84 road decision later in the month.

Aces vs Wings Prediction
It’s difficult to imagine the Dallas Wings being competitive when they’re the inferior team, but they did take down the defending champs in their latest outing. Both team need this game, albeit for different reasons.
We don’t like the Dallas Wings to do much in this game. It shouldn’t be that competitive. Las Vegas is 14-6-2 against the spread in their last 22 road games against Dallas.
The WNBA spread is a little too light in this one. The Las Vegas Aces win by double digits in (suburban) Dallas.
