Chicago Sky Our Underdog Betting Pick in Game 1 vs Las Vegas Aces

The Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces are once again back in the WNBA playoffs and will start it off by going head-to-head Wednesday night. Following its title win last year, our WNBA odds have Las Vegas favored to go back-to-back with -160 odds to win it all. However, after finishing the regular season strong, Chicago will try to make things interesting in the first postseason series.

Sky Get Hot

Although Chicago just snuck into the playoffs as the eighth seed and a game ahead of the ninth-ranked Los Angeles Sparks, it ended the season on a three-game winning streak.

The Sky’s offense was humming through their final three games, averaging 96.7 points a game on 50.1% shooting in that time.

Chicago capped its season by dropping 102 points on the Sun’s league-leading defense, led by Courtney Williams and Elizabeth Williams, who scored 23 and 21 points, respectively.

The Sky will get another tough test in a strong Las Vegas defense, and though they’ve shown no signs of slowing down, bettors may want to see if that’s true before making use of some live betting odds.

Aces Stay Strong

No. 1-ranked Las Vegas also finished its season on a high note after winning its last four regular season games.

The Aces offense continued to help propel them to victory, averaging 95.3 points on 50.2% shooting in those four contests.

A’ja Wilson has led Las Vegas all season, and the last four games were no different, ending the regular season with a 30.5-point average in those games.

The Aces have the number one offense in the WNBA, averaging 92.8 points a game, and they should be a solid WNBA pick to continue that trend in the playoffs.

Sky vs Aces Betting Lines

Bet on Sky ATS vs Aces

Despite Las Vegas being heavily favored at home, with our sportsbook giving it -1800 odds to win game one, the Sky should still keep things closer than WNBA lines suggest.

The spread for this game has been set at 16 points, and despite the Aces sweeping Chicago in the regular season, Vegas failed to cover the line in all those victories, winning by an average of 10.7 points.

Las Vegas’ closest win came in its final meeting with Chicago, winning by seven. With the Sky’s offense gaining momentum at the end of the regular season, they should be able to cover the spread in the series opener as well.

Pick: Chicago Sky +16 (-110)
