Top Scorers Hope To Lead Teams To Victory
The Minnesota Lynx and Washington Mystics will meet for the first time this season when the two clash Saturday. Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier and Washington’s Elena Delle Donne, both in the top 10 in the league in scoring, will try to lead their teams to victory, but according to WNBA odds, the Mystics are favored.
Lynx Fall Again
Minnesota remained winless after it lost its sixth straight game, and though its offense has shown improvement, its defense has still struggled.
The Lynx scored over 80 points in their last two games, averaging 86.5 points a game in that time, however they couldn’t slow down their opponents enough to get the win.
In Minnesota’s last loss, it allowed the Sun to score 89 points on 50.7% shooting, with four of Connecticut’s five starters reaching double digits and Alyssa Thomas setting a franchise record with 16 assists.
The Lynx took on last season’s two championship teams in the Sun and Aces, so they may have a better time at slowing the Mystics, but bettors should still wait and see how the game begins before taking a look at WNBA live betting odds.
Mystics Keep It Close
Washington bounced back from a two-game skid with a tight win over the Sky.
Delle Donne powered the Mystics to a win with 25 points, including a late-game 3-pointer with under 25 seconds left that put the team on top for good.
Though Washington was held to its lowest score of the season at 71 points, its defense was also strong, limiting Chicago to 69 points and turning the Sky over 21 times.
The Mystics are third in the WNBA in opponent points allowed, holding teams to 75.3 points a game, and they will try to keep that strong defensive play when the Lynx come to town.
