Sun ATS Pick vs Lynx in WNBA Playoffs
This best-of-three series between the third-seeded Connecticut Sun and Minnesota Lynx heads to a pivotal Game 3. With Game 3 taking place in Minnesota, it does open the door for a possible upset in WNBA odds and predictions.
In Game 1, the Suns looked like a perfect and complete team, winning 90-60 and seemingly taking a massive step toward ending Minnesota’s season. However, the Lynx fought back on the road in Game 2, winning 82-75, sending this series to a close-out game on their home court.

Balance the Reason to Bet Sun
The best version of the Sun is when they sit back, play elite defense and work as a team on offense. That happened in the opening game, leading to Connecticut’s early edge in the series. They had a 14-point lead at halftime and coasted to victory.
Alyssa Thomas had a great game with 15 points, 10 assists and five steals while DeWanna Bonner led the Sun in scoring with 17 points. Three other players were in double-digit scoring: Rebecca Allen, Tiffany Hayes and Tyasha Harris.
Everything was clicking, especially from behind the arc, with the Sun hitting 16 of 30 3-point attempts. On top of that, they held the Lynx to 35% from the field.
It was a perfect game for the Sun and pushed WNBA betting toward them winning in Game 2. However, the Lynx would be ready, playing much better offensively. Furthermore, the Sun as a whole fell off slightly. Connecticut made 7 of 20 threes and most of the offensive workload fell on the shoulders of Thomas and Bonner.
While very good shoulders to rely on, with Thomas scoring 26 points and Bonner at 24, that is not how the Sun wants to play. They need help from the rest of the team’s supporting cast for Connteicut to live up to its WNBA lines as favorites
Lynx Need Stars to Come Up Big
The Sun dominated Game 1 of this series, but the Lynx responded in a big way. Minnesota’s stars, Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride, struggled in Game 1 by combining for 30 points, but that changed in Game 2.

In Game 2, the two stars were the only two double-digit scorers, but they combined for 54 points. McBride had a great game, hitting six 3-pointers with 28 points and eight rebounds. Collier had a double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. If the two can have another performance like that, they could keep WNBA odds in check.
WNBA odds today do not predict an upset so Collier and McBride must have another strong game against the team with the second-best defensive rating during the regular season. That will be a challenge, especially given how well the Sun defense did in Game 1 in limiting the damage from all the role players for the Lynx.
No other player in this series for Minnesota has scored in double figures outside Collier and McBride. Someone must step up if the Lynx want to advance to the semifinals.
Sun vs Lynx Odds
Sun vs Lynx Best Bet
While Game 3 is in Minnesota, that should not keep the Sun from advancing to the next round of the playoffs. Connecticut won both games in Minnesota this season but only covered the spread once.
After a disappointing loss in Game 2, the Sun should be able to return to how they played in Game 1. The defense will be even more locked in on the Lynx’s star players and the Sun will rely on the overall talent edge to carry them to a win.
WNBA Pick: Connecticut Sun -5½ (-110)
