Teams Looking to Gain Ground

Teams sitting near the top in their respective conferences will try to close the gap to first when the Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings meet for the second time this season on Tuesday. The Sun are tied for first with New York in the Eastern Conference, but the Liberty hold the top spot on percentage points.

The Wings, meanwhile, are trying to cut into the 7.5-game lead Las Vegas has in the West with their five-game win streak. Connecticut won the first matchup between the two teams, but according to WNBA odds, Dallas is favored in the rematch.

Sun Escape a Comeback

Connecticut has won two in a row and four of its last five following back-to-back defeats of Atlanta.

The Sun are second in the league in defense, allowing 78.4 points a game, and gave up an average of 75.4 points in their last five. However, their defense nearly cost them their last win against the Dream.

After Connecticut took a 20-point lead near the end of the first half, it allowed Atlanta to go on a 22-3 run to make it a one-point game. Despite the run, the Sun limited the Dream to 30.4% shooting from the field to hold them off and get the win.

Atlanta is fourth in the league in scoring, and the Sun will get another tough test in the third-ranked Wings, so bettors may want to see how their defense fares before using some WNBA live bettingodds.

Wings Continue Run

Dallas has continued its winning ways with a five-game win streak, using its strong offense to get there.

The Wings have averaged 92 points during their win streak, and their offense was needed in their last two wins, as both the Liberty and Sparks kept things within reach by each scoring over 80 points.

Arike Ogunbowale was key in each of Dallas’ last two 98-point outings, scoring 25 points in both games. Satou Sabally and Natasha Howard also scored over 25 against Los Angeles while the team shot 53.9% from the field.

The Wings are third in the WNBA in scoring, averaging 86 points, and with Ogunbowale, Sabally and Howard each contributing, they should be a solid WNBA pick for another strong offensive game.

Sun vs Wings Picks and Prediction

Both teams have been on a roll recently, and with each team in the top five in the WNBA in scoring, it should be an exciting offensive matchup.

Although Connecticut won a close first game against the Wings, Ogunbowale was held to eight points. With the Sun’s defensive struggles last game, that’s not likely to happen this time around. Dallas also gets home-court advantage this time, where it is 8-2, and it should keep rolling with its sixth win in a row.
