It’s that time of year. The grandest spectacle of sports entertainment is on tap over April 1 and 2 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
WrestleMania 39 brings together stars of the ring, surprises, and fans from around the world.
WWE released the cards for each night and here’s a look at the matches and predictions for them.
You can wager on both nights at BetUS.
Night one (Saturday, April 1) —
- United States Champion Austin Theory (-280) defends against John Cena (+195_. Prediction: Makes all the sense in the world for Theory to be diabolical and get the victory. Hard to imagine how a win benefits Cena or WWE.
- SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair (+350) defends against Rhea Ripley (-600) Prediction: It seems like a title belt is Krazy Glued around the waist of Charlotte. However, it is time for a change as Ripley has become a superb performer in the ring and through her character.
- Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos defend against Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn Prediction: Will the Bloodline lose all of its titles over the two nights? Everything points to time for a change but the Usos & Co. have breathed fire into the sports entertainment juggernaut. Too soon for an Owens swerve?
- Becky Lynch, Lita & Trish Stratus (-250) vs. Damage CTRL ((+170) Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) Prediction: Title change here. A lot of buzz about a heel turn for Stratus or a babyface move for Bayley.
- Seth Rollins (-155) vs. Logan Paul (+115) Prediction: Paul claims this match ends his run/contract with WWE. If so, why would he win this match? Paul brings too much value to the company. He doesn’t have to win but WWE must want him to continue to make appearances at big events.
- Rey Mysterio (+170) vs. Dominik Mysterio (-260) Prediction: Father vs. son. The SoCal crowd would love to see father Rey dominate son Dominik. However, that would be too easy. Let’s go with outside interference helping the offspring.
- WrestleMania Showcase match: Braun Strowman & Ricochet vs. The Street Profits vs. Chad Gable & Otis vs. The Viking Raiders Prediction: The Street Profits move the needle more than any of these teams.
Night two (Sunday, April 2) —
- Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns (+225) defends against Cody Rhodes (-350) Prediction: Rhodes ends the Reigns run because everything points to that. Paying homage to his late dad, the legendary Dusty Rhodes. Could there be a surprise distraction at the end of the match to cost the current champ?
- Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair (-145) defends against Asuka (+105) Prediction: Belair has too much going for her to lose.
- Intercontinental Champion Gunther defends against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in a triple-threat match Prediction: Watch Gunther keep the title because McIntyre and Sheamus can’t keep from fighting each other.
- Hell in a Cell match: Edge (+135) vs. “The Demon” Finn Balor (-175) Prediction: Edge is a legend and will be whether win or lose. So, this one figures to go to Balor as “The Demon.”
- Brock Lesnar (-500) vs. Omos (+300) Prediction: This should be fast and clumsy. Given the way Omos has had his way with Lesnar in the lead-up to WrestleMania, expect The Beast Incarnate to F-5 his Nigerian opponent and win..
- WrestleMania Showcase match: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya & Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green Prediction: Go with Rousey and Baszler because they simply are the stars in this cluttered group.
