Battlehawks Look to Polish Play
While St. Louis has lost two of its last three, both defeats came at the hands of the XFL’s final undefeated team – the D.C. Defenders. The Battlehawks are still viewed as the league’s third-best team, behind the Defenders and the Houston Roughnecks. In fact, XFL odds have St. Louis as the third choice to win the championship (+550).
However, the Battlehawks have several areas they must improve upon to truly contend. First off, the defense was embarrassed in Week 5’s 28-20 loss against the Defenders. D.C. totaled 248 rushing yards on 7.1 yards per carry. Good luck winning a game with a team running the rock like that. Fortunately, the Vipers are a favorable matchup, as they rank in the bottom half of the league at 3.7 yards per carry.
St. Louis has also been a shaky XFL pick due to turnovers. It had two turnovers last week and four in Week 3’s 34-28 loss against D.C. The Battlehawks had an impressive 24-11 win against the Arlington Renegades in Week 4. They only had one turnover in that one.
Vipers’ Passing Attack Progressing
Despite Week 5’s win, making the postseason still seems out of reach for the Vipers. The XFL North is stacked with the Defenders, Battlehawks and Seattle Sea Dragons, who are all within the top four favorites to win the championship. XFL lines have Vegas with the second-highest odds to win the title (+4500).
The Vipers are still capable of winning some games. Quarterback Luis Perez has finally provided a consistent force on offense. He is averaging 276 passing yards in the last two. Wide receiver Jeff Badet has been his go-to target with back-to-back 80-yard outings, including two touchdowns against the Guardians.

The Battlehawks have not allowed more than 210 passing yards in the last three games. However, St. Louis’ recent opponents rank in the bottom three of passing yards. Perez has a chance to be a game-changer on Saturday.

Battlehawks vs Vipers Picks & Prediction
Predicted Score: Battlehawks 26, Vipers 21
- Worth Betting ATS?
The Las Vegas XFL odds are quite surprising, with the Battlehawks favored by only three points. The Vipers lack the tools to expose St. Louis. Vegas has forced only one turnover in the last two games. Plus, the Vipers have an inefficient rushing attack. The Battlehawks have turnover problems and a weak run defense, but they should be fine against Vegas. Look for St. Louis to cover.
- Worth Betting on the Totals?
This matchup has the highest total of Week 6 at 44½. The Vipers have one of the league’s worst defenses and the Battlehawks have allowed at least 28 points in two of the last three. Take the over.
