Brahmas vs Renegades Prediction, Game Preview, Live Stream, Odds and Picks

Round Two in Arlington

In Week 5, the Arlington Renegades (3-2) defeated the San Antonio Brahmas (1-4) 12-10. On Sunday, the two meet again, but this time it’s in Arlington. The Renegades are 2-0 and 0-2 against the spread (ATS) in home games. The Brahmas are 1-2 outright and ATS in away games.

This is a key game for XFL South standings, with both teams hoping to grab the second playoff spot in the division. Expect a defensive battle, as this features the sportsbook’s lowest projected total of the week at 33. Let’s check the latest XFL news surrounding Sunday’s clash.

Brahmas vs Renegades Betting Lines

San Antonio Should Run the Rock

With quarterback Jack Coan’s struggles, the Brahmas made the switch to Reid Sinnett in Week 5. However, he exited the game with an injury. Coan stepped in and did more of the same. In only 15 pass attempts, he threw two interceptions. San Antonio lost the turnover battle three to one, which was the difference in the 12-10 loss.

One of the best XFL picks has been the under for the Brahmas. The offense has not eclipsed 14 points in the last three games and is averaging 9.7 per game. San Antonio ranks last in passing yards and rushing yards. The Renegades have allowed 10 or fewer points in two of the last three games.

The Brahmas should look to run the ball more often. Running back Jacques Patrick has only eight total carries over the last two games. He averaged 4.3 yards per carry last week. Plus, Arlington allowed 110 rushing yards in Week 4. San Antonio’s current formula has failed. It must alter its offensive strategy.

Renegades’ Alarming Offense

Arlington is in second place in the South, putting it in position for a postseason appearance. However, XFL lines do not view the Renegades as a contender. They are the fifth choice to win the championship at +750. After Week 5’s action, the Seattle Sea Dragons passed Arlington in Las Vegas XFL odds for the title (+700).

How can the Renegades become legit contenders? Like the Brahmas, they have major scoring problems. Arlington has only five touchdowns on the season, averaging 11.8 points in the last four. Its highest scoring total came in Week 1 with 22 points. In addition, the unit is averaging 223.7 yards in the last three.

It was evident the Renegades had serious problems when the offense mustered only 178 yards against the Orlando Guardians in Week 3, who is the XFL’s worst team. This could be a lost cause, as quarterbacks Kyle Sloter and Drew Plitt have struggled. Sloter has gotten the nod in the last three games, but he has not produced any results. Arlington cannot contend with this poor scoring output.

Brahmas vs Renegades Head-to-Head

The Brahmas and Renegades had a low-scoring affair in Week 5 with 22 combined points. Arlington came out with the win and cover, but both offenses struggled.

Brahmas vs Renegades Picks and Prediction

Predicted Score: Renegades 14, Brahmas 10

  • Worth Betting ATS?

Bad offenses have derailed both teams’ seasons. San Antonio and Arlington have good defenses, which are being wasted. The Renegades have forced six turnovers over the last three weeks, while the Brahmas have forced three in the same span. Turnovers will decide this defensive struggle. I like Arlington to cover the 2½ point spread, but the total is a more promising bet.

  • Worth Betting on the Totals?

The Brahmas and Renegades have been great online gambling options for the under. Even with the total at 33, the under is still likely. Both teams have bad quarterback play and good defenses. Plus, neither offense has reached 14 points in the last three games. Take the under.
