Vegas Seeks Second Straight Win

Week 7 of the XFL features several must-see matchups, like the St. Louis Battlehawks against the Houston Roughnecks. However, the San Antonio Brahmas (2-4) against the Vegas Vipers (1-5) does not have the same level of anticipation, but XFL lines can make this an enticing online gambling bet.

Despite coming off a 29-6 loss, the Vipers are favored by three points. Meanwhile, the Brahmas come off a 15-9 win against the Arlington Renegades, meaning they could stack its first winning streak of the season.

Brahmas Make QB Change

After pulling quarterback Jack Coan in Week 5, San Antonio stayed committed to the change in Week 6. The Brahmas gave snaps to Jawon Pass and Kurt Benkert. Pass looks to be the starter going forward after Benkert completed only one of six passing attempts.

However, the offense still has major concerns. San Antonio totaled only 51 passing yards against the Renegades. It continues to lean heavily on the run game, which ranks fifth in rushing yards. Jacques Patrick comes off a big game, totaling 82 rushing yards on 5.5 yards per carry. The Brahmas have not eclipsed 15 points since Week 2.

Without balance, don’t expect the Brahmas to contend. They are already one game back from Arlington for a playoff spot. The sportsbook also lists San Antonio as the sixth choice to win the championship (+1400).

The defense’s excellent play is flying under the radar in XFL news. Opponents are averaging 12 points in the last three games. The run defense has been particularly impressive, holding opponents to 3.4 yards per carry in the last two. Linebacker Jordan Williams had a monster game last week with 14 tackles.

Vipers Active in Trade Market

Vegas’ struggles continued in Week 6. In fact, the 23-point loss was the largest deficit of the season, and its six points tied for the worst mark yet. The defense has allowed 30.8 points over the last four games, and the secondary continues to get shredded, allowing at least 236 passing yards in the last two games.

XFL picks favoring the Vipers have been a tough go. They are 0-5 against the spread (ATS) in the last five games. With this poor defense, it’s hard to see results changing. Fortunately, the Brahmas are a one-dimensional offense, ranking last in passing yards, so Vegas can sell out on the run.

The offense was a bright spot in Week 4 and Week 5, with quarterback Luis Perez totaling at least 260 passing yards in both games. However, his turnover problems arose yet again in Week 6. Brett Hundley took over, and the Vipers traded Perez to the Renegades on Wednesday. This is now Hundley’s team. He posted 224 passing yards with two touchdowns in his last start in Week 3.

Brahmas vs Vipers Picks and Prediction

Predicted Score: Brahmas 17, Vipers 13

  • Worth Betting ATS?

The sportsbook favoring the Vipers is rather surprising. The passing offense was a positive, but now that is uncertain. The defense is one of the league’s worst. The Brahmas have scoring problems, but we know their defense is one of the XFL’s best. San Antonio has the only reliable unit in this matchup. I like the Brahmas to cover.

  • Worth Betting on the Totals?

Las Vegas XFL odds have the projected total at 39. This could be one of the easiest XFL bets of the week. Both teams have shaky situations at quarterback. San Antonio’s Pass has yet to start a full game, and Vegas’ Hundley was benched in Week 4. Take the under.
