Playoff Hopes on the Line
Saturday’s XFL action is capped with a battle between the Arlington Renegades (3-4) and the Orlando Guardians (1-6). The XFL South is wide-open with all four teams alive for the postseason.
The Renegades are 0-2 against the spread (ATS) over the last two games. The Guardians come off their first win and are 3-0 ATS in the last three games. XFL lines favor Orlando for the first time this season. Will the Guardians keep their postseason hopes alive, or will Arlington build its lead in the South standings?
New Renegades Quarterback?
Arlington has not reached 20 points since Week 1’s 22-20 win against the Vegas Vipers. The offense had its best game since the season opener with 339 yards against the Seattle Sea Dragons. The Renegades averaged five yards per carry with more than 200 passing yards.
However, it was not enough in the 24-15 loss. The defense underperformed, which is a first. Typically, Arlington’s defense has flourished while the offense struggles to get anything going. The secondary allowed 266 passing yards. It must improve against the Guardians, who totaled 328 passing yards last week.
The Renegades made XFL news last week after trading with the Vipers for quarterback Luis Perez. He did not start in Week 7, but starting QB Drew Plitt was placed on the injured reserve list. Perez could take over, but will it be enough? Despite holding one of four playoff spots, the sportsbook has Arlington as the fifth choice to win the title (+1100).
Guardians Breakthrough With Shocking Win
Ahead of Week 7’s matchup with the D.C. Defenders, Orlando was showing promise. It turned in several pitiful performances to open the season, like Week 4’s 44-16 loss against the Houston Roughnecks. However, quarterback Quinten Dormady was fueling a turnaround.
Dormady was a force in the shocking 37-36 win against the Defenders. Few XFL picks expected the Guardians to grab their first win against the league’s last undefeated team. Dormady totaled 328 passing yards and six touchdowns, and wide receiver Cody Latimer posted 93 receiving yards.

Orlando has found a formidable duo. Dormady ranks second in passer rating, while Latimer leads the XFL in receiving yards. XFL odds still have the Guardians as the last choice to win the title (+10000). However, they are still in the playoff picture. With another win, Orlando’s online gambling title odds will begin to drop.
Renegades vs Guardians Head-to-Head
The Renegades defeated the Guardians 10-9 in Week 3. Both offenses struggled, and Orlando played undisciplined football with turnovers and penalties.

Renegades vs Guardians Picks and Prediction
Predicted Score: Guardians 18, Renegades 13
- Worth Betting ATS?
The Guardians are 3-0 ATS over the last three games. However, this is the first time Orlando will be favored. The Renegades are 0-2 ATS in the last two with their offense showing no signs of improvement. The Guardians’ Dormady could be the hottest quarterback in the XFL. Roll with Orlando.
- Worth Betting on the Totals?
The projected total sits at 42. Arlington’s offense is a mess. Its run game performed well last week but it totaled only 2.4 yards per carry in Week 3’s meeting with Orlando. In addition, the weather could affect the Guardians’ passing attack. There is a slight chance it turns into a downpour, which will make scoring difficult. Take the under.
The Renegades are listed at +105 in our Vegas XFL lines. This means that if you wager $100 on Renegades, you have a chance to win $105. The Guardians are -125, offering a chance to win $80 on a $100 wager.
The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives Renegades a 48.78% chance to win, with Guardians at 55.56%.
