Bet Phillies To Score On Moneyline Against Giants

The Philadelphia Phillies will be a solid favorite in the MLB odds when they send unbeaten Ranger Suarez to the mound on Saturday night against the visiting San Francisco Giants.

The Phillies edged the Giants 4-3 in the opener of a four-game series on Friday for their seventh victory in eight contests. Brandon Marsh singled in two runs in the third inning to give Philadelphia the lead for good.

Suarez gives the Phillies an advantage on the mound after winning all five of his starts in April, allowing just three earned runs across 36 innings. The 28-year-old lefty is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA over six career appearances versus San Francisco.

The Giants fell to 1-3 on their 10-game road trip after leaving eight on base Friday. Right-hander Keaton Winn (3-3, 3.18 ERA) has won his last three starts, yielding one run in each, and may make the under (7 ½) a good bet on Saturday.

Philadelphia is +650 to win the National League pennant in the Las Vegas odds and San Francisco is at +2500.

Bohm Paying Off Prop Bettors

Philadelphia third baseman Alec Bohm extended his hitting streak to 16 games on Friday with an RBI single in the third inning for his team’s first run.

The 27-year-old has 30 hits in 64 at-bats during his streak with three homers and 20 RBIs, raising his batting average to .358. Bohm battled .274 in 145 games last season.

Bohm has 31 RBIs well ahead of last year’s pace when he finished with a career-high 97. His OPS is 1.001.

Giants Offense Needs Boost

San Francisco is in the bottom half of the majors in most offensive categories and batting just .238 as a team after managing seven singles and a two-run double by Thairo Estrada on Friday.

The Giants have scored 19 runs while going 3-5 over the last eight games. LaMonte Wade Jr. (.333) is the only player with at least 60 at bats hitting above .280 It won’t help that catcher Patrick Bailey (.278) left Friday’s game and is questionable for Saturday.

San Francisco wasted Estrada’s lead-off single in the ninth on Friday as the next three batters made outs.

I thought our at-bats were really good up until the end,” Giants manager Bob Melvin told reporters.

The only plus in facing Suarez for the Giants on Saturday is he is 2-5 in his career during May.

Turner Likely No-Go On Saturday

Phillies All-Star shortstop Trea Turner left the game with an injury Friday and is questionable for Saturday.

Turner’s absence, along with the strong pitching matchup, could be a boon for the under if you bet online. The 2021 major league batting champ had a pair of hits on Friday and is 15-for-39 over his last nine outings.

Edmundo Sosa took Turner’s place and singled in his lone plate appearance. He is 6-for-21 on the season after batting .251 in 104 games last year.
