We went 2-2 on Tuesday night. Corbin Burnes held the Washington Nationals in check, cashing his under 5½ hits allowed. We watched the Blue Jays bats eventually get to Cristopher Sanchez, who went over his 5½ hits allowed line. We lost Reynaldo Lopez by the hook when he finished with a five-strikeout performance, going under his 5½ betting line. Then Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-2 with two walks and went under his 1½ total bases in the Dodgers win. I’m eager to bounce back and cash a sweep this Wednesday!

I’ve meticulously narrowed down the best player props for you today. Get ready for an exciting day of MLB action!

Best MLB Player Props Today

1. MLB Bet: Braves SP Chris Sale Over 7½ Strikeouts (-113)

We went with Reynaldo Lopez against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night and he let us down, finishing with five strikeouts when we needed six. I’m not scared of fading the Red Sox, though. Tonight, the Braves send veteran left-hander Chris Sale to the mound.

Sale has been a revelation for the Atlanta Braves through his first six starts. He has finished with at least six strikeouts in every outing and struck out nine in his most recent start. Sale has a 3.44 ERA but an xERA of 2.81 and a 0.95 WHIP. He is 97th percentile in Chase% and 83rd percentile in K%!

He doesn’t have much experience pitching against these Red Sox, but Boston’s lineup is inferior outside of Rafael Devers. The Red Sox own the fourth-highest K% and WHIFF%. Boston has the second-most strikeouts in MLB, behind only the Seattle Mariners. This number might seem inflated, but don’t be scared.

I’ve given you all of these reasons to back Sale and have yet to mention that this is a revenge spot for Sale against his former club, which traded him this offseason to Atlanta. The 35-year-old southpaw is finally healthy again and could be the difference maker for the Braves rotation this season. I expect Sale to shove tonight against his former club!

2. MLB Bet: Orioles C Adley Rutschman Over 1½ Total Bases (-108)

I searched high and low for a way to back the Baltimore Orioles today against rookie left-hander Mitchell Parker, and I settled on Adley Rutschman. While I think going with Parker over 5½ hits allowed or over 2½ earned runs allowed are also good looks, I’m just going with Rutschman to go over 1½ total bases from hits tonight. Parker has performed well through his first four career starts, but he allowed six hits in each of his last two outings. The southpaw loves his four-seam fastball, throwing it 47% of the time. This is where I love Rutschman in this matchup.

Rutschman has the highest run value of any player in MLB on any pitch variety on four-seam fastballs. He and Mookie Betts (vs. sinkers) are the only players with a run value of 11 against any pitch type! Rutschman is batting .442 against four-seamers with an insane 64.1% hard hit %! This is key because Parker is in the 36th percentile in hard hit %.

Rutschman is mashing left-handed pitching this season with a .474 BA and 1.246 OPS, both the best in MLB of any player with at least 26 at-bats against lefties. Last season, he hit .304 against lefties, so this isn’t a fluke to start 2024. He has reached two total bases in four of his last five games and 12 of his last 17 overall!

3. MLB Bet: Nationals SP Mitchell Parker Over 2½ Earned Runs (-114)

While writing about Adley Rutschman, I convinced myself we need to fade the rookie Mitchell Parker against this entire Orioles lineup tonight. We’re getting decent odds on this wager, which hit in Parker’s last outing against the Texas Rangers. Baltimore’s bats rank fourth in batting average (.274 BA) against lefties and second in both on-base slugging (.829 OPS) and slugging percentage (.492 SLG)! They have tormented southpaws this season.

The last nine lefties to start against the O’s have each allowed at least four Earned Runs! The sportsbook doesn’t expect Parker to go deep in this game. He has yet to throw more than 83 pitches in a start so we’ll need the Orioles to jump on him early. I mentioned Parker’s tendency to fall in love with his fastball. Well, the O’s are one of the best teams against four-seamers. I’m banking on Baltimore to produce against Parker early and often.
