Stars and Knights Shut It Down in Dallas

The two best words in sports: “Game Seven.” Everything comes down to one game between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Dallas Stars. Vegas, the defending champion, is the underdog visiting Dallas. The hosts each won Game 5 and 6 and this could follow suit. But this is too close to call and the best NHL bet here is in the total at 5½. We expect these staunch defensive teams to play tenser and put everything on the line in a low-scoring game.

Golden Knights vs Stars Game 7 Information

  • Date/Time: May 5, 7:30 p.m. ET

Dallas is favored by the online sportsbook at -150 with Vegas at +130. That’s a bit wide and we’d rather bet the underdogs. But Dallas is the better team and Vegas has been largely outplayed in this series. The one thing that has stayed consistent is the low scoring. Four of six games have gone under six goals, hence why under 5½ is juiced at -120.

  • Golden Knights G Adin Hill has a .933 save percentage in 18 career playoff games

Golden Knights vs Stars Pick: Under 5½

In the most recent Game 7s, 14 of the 19 featured less than six goals. This includes three of Dallas’ four tries. With seasons at stake, players will dial it back to the days when physicality was the thing. We’ll potentially see more hits, penalties, and possibly even some brawls as tensions run high.

Dallas is the fourth-highest scoring team on average with 3.55 a game. However, it has struggled to break through Vegas’ style. The Knights are not as prolific offensively but are still a solid defense. They are big and physical and more desperate now. On top of that, they have room for error as Adin Hill has been tremendous as their last line of defense.

Hill is something else when it comes to the playoffs. In his 18 appearances, he has allowed two goals or fewer 10 times. Vegas won each of those games. In the games where he allowed three or more, Vegas is 3-5. He’ll be the player to watch for the Knights as they defend their throne. Still, Jake Oettinger is no slouch on the other end.

Dallas’ goaltender overcame a horrendous Game 1 where he allowed four goals on just 15 shots. Since then, he’s saved 140 of the 149 shots he’s faced.

We expect this to be a rough-and-tumble type of game on the ice. And in goal, it will be a classic duel between Hill and Oettinger. One goal will win this game and it will be via a 3-2 final and maybe even in overtime.

Bet on the under.

Golden Knights vs Stars Game Prop Pick: Race To 4 Goals – Neither

Another prop bet you can take on the NHL betting odds is for neither Vegas nor Dallas to hit the four-goal mark. A team has only scored 4+ goals three times in their last nine meetings. Dallas averages two goals against Vegas during this span. Barring a goaltending meltdown, this trend will persist.
