Weight Change Helps Jonas
Local United Kingdom fighter Jonas is 12-2 and her most recent loss came against Katie Taylor in the lightweight division, but changing to welterweight has helped.
She has won three consecutive fights since that unanimous decision loss, which was awfully close, and Taylor is one of the best fighters in the world.
So is Jonas, who is the top-ranked welterweight champion after beating Patricia Berghult by a decision in September. It was a one-sided affair with Jonas winning 99-91, 100-90 and 100-90, which is about as one-sided as a decision gets.
The sportsbook isn’t taking any risks with Jonas, who is the dominant -550 favorite to beat Dicaire, a worthy challenger who could test the champion through the middle rounds of the fight.
“Naturally I think she is [bigger] but we’ve done everything we can to work on every best version of her. If she wants to go on the back foot and counter, whether she wants to come forward and attack and use her size advantage, we’ve done everything in camp we can to combat that,” Jonas told Boxing Scene.
“I don’t like predictions, I’ve never been a person for that, but I’ve trained and I’ve put my body through hell to have 10 hard rounds so that’s what I’m prepared for.“

Dicaire Declares Intentions
The 36-year-old Canadian was easily handled by Claressa Shields last year and she has beaten a no-name fighter in Cynthia Lozano since.
It’s not stellar form, but she’s 18-1 and her record and size has to be respected in this division. However, what we can’t respect is her lack of knockout power.
She owns only one knockout win and that came against Lozano last year. It’s not great form, but she’s a confident fighter and we thought she would be at longer boxing odds with bookmakers.
We priced her around the +550 mark, so there’s some confidence and that has to be respected on the world stage.
She is good enough to go 10 rounds with Jonas, but the odds of her winning via decision are slim and her fitness could give out in the last four rounds.
