Dupreeh’s perfect record continues after BLAST.tv Paris CS GO Major qualification

After Team Vitality’s victory at the Europe RMR B qualifier event, the French-based organization has officially qualified for the BLAST.tv Paris CS GO Major. However, one of the members was playing for more than qualification this time around, with him recording a perfect attendance record at all CS GO Majors.

Danish mastermind Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen was a professional player by the beginning of the CS GO Major season back in 2013 under Copenhagen Wolves, finishing with a top 8 placement in the tournament. With Vitality’s recent victory over BIG, he has punched a ticket for his 19th Major, a staggering feat for any player.

Dupreeh has been able to grab a plethora of titles besides former teammates Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz and Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth, with him being a crucial part of the lineup that currently records the most number of Major titles in CS GO history. As a whole, the Danish trio attended 15 Majors together under organizations such as Team Dignitas and TSM.

After a couple of close attempts, Dupreeh would finally push for a Major title under Astralis, starting with a breakout campaign in January 2017 at the ELEAGUE Atlanta Major. The full Danish lineup would continue to dominate the entire Major scene for the next 2 years, managing to win 4 out of their 6 finals plus recording 3 consecutive titles, with their last being in 2019 at the Starladder Berlin Major where they demolished AVANGAR.

After underwhelming performances, some Astralis members decided to search for a new home, with dupreeh departing to sign with Team Vitality back in May of 2022. Within the French organization, he kept his perfect Major attendance record.

French CS GO fans almost saw their hopes of representation at their home tournament demolished, however with Vitality’s win the French organization will be attending the BLAST.tv Major. With the strong team lineup at the RMR qualifying event and no strong second French squad in it, there was a situation where no French organization would participate in their home Major.

French fans are still hoping for another old-school player to be present in the Major, with veteran Kenny “kennyS” Schrub and Falcons set to play for their final chance to qualify at the Last Chance Qualifier event next week. Nevertheless, with a single team advancing out of the 6 qualifiers, they’ll need to show up at peak performance level.

As for dupreeh and Team Vitality, they will play tough opposition in the form of G2 Esports, with a victory meaning a spot in the 3rd place playoff stage versus Monte plus a possible path to skip the Challengers stage.
