All the Jiu-Jitsu Instructor Jokes Got to Her…

Well, Gisele isn’t a fan of Netflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, and it’s not because some jokes were mid; it’s because she found them “disrespectful” and “disappointing.”

During the Tom Brady roast, Gisele Bündchen (Tom’s ex-wife) was the target of some pretty harsh jokes. The comedians and athletes included Kevin Hart, Nikki Glaser, Julian Edelman, Drew Bledsoe, Andrew Shultz, and even Tom Brady himself, all taking jabs at Gisele and poking fun at their divorce.
The former supermodel made celebrity news headlines for her response to the roast. A source told People that Gisele is “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show.” And added, “As always, [Bündchen’s] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted.”

And, of course, the source also revealed that while the former Patriots QB was hamming it up at her expense, Bündchen was toiling away doing charity work. The source continued:
“This past week, Gisele has been tirelessly dedicated to aiding those in need in her home state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, which is grappling with the worst flooding in its history. She was concerned about her family affected by the devastating floods, so to hear her life being joked about was very disappointing.”
Gisele’s reaction was expected, as she is not known for her sense of humor and likes to curate her public image very carefully. And I mean, the jokes were pretty f*cked up. Many of them focused on the celebrity rumors about her leaving Brady for her jiu-jitsu instructor, which Bündchen has worked hard to dispel since the split.

Nikki Glaser Took It Too Far?
My guess is that it wasn’t due to any of the countless Tom Brady retirement jokes. But rather, Nikki Glaser’s joke is the straw that broke the camel’s back. The comedian touched on the cheating rumors, joking:
“The only thing dumber than you saying yes to this roast is when you said, ‘Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu,’” Nikki Glaser quipped. “How much must it suck knowing that your ex-wife’s new boyfriend can beat your ass while eating hers? That’s got to be terrible.”

What only added fuel to the fire was Tom Brady’s response at the end of the roast. After he (and Gisele) took a total beating on stage, Brady joked, “There have been a lot of jokes tonight, but I miss the love of my life…football.” Hopefully, Tom Brady’s new girlfriend sticks around, because after that, there’s no shot of rekindling with Bündchen.
I’ll partly side with Gisele here and acknowledge the tasteless nature of most of the jokes. However, it’s a roast. The less tasteful, the funnier they are (if done correctly). Most of the jokes were particularly funny because there’s been so few public comments about it all.
Unfortunately, Gisele caught a few strays, but at least she didn’t get booed on stage and told to “close her legs” like Kim Kardashian did. Now that was truly boring and gross.
