Suns Rout Mavericks During Game 5
After the Dallas Mavericks found a way to win back-to-back outings at home in Games 3 and 4, it looked like they were going to give the Phoenix Suns a run for their money in this first-round series.
Unfortunately for them, Phoenix stormed back with a 30-point win in Game 5. The victory hands the Suns a 3-2 series lead, putting the Mavs on the ropes when they transition back home for Game 6.
Will Dallas force a Game 7, or will this be the last time we see the Mavs this season? It’s an interesting showdown for those who betonline in terms of which way to go versus the NBA odds.
Let’s check the latest NBA picks, stats, injury reports, and NBA odds for Suns vs Mavericks. We’ve plenty of NBA playoffs odds for you to consider.
Suns Backcourt Gets Back To Strength
The Phoenix Suns finally saw their starting backcourt get into their usual rhythm and it paid dividends. Chris Paul didn’t take many shots, but he still had seven points, two rebounds, and 10 assists.
Devin Booker was the true star of the show with 28 points, seven boards, and two assists himself. There were only two other players on the roster that eclipsed double digits but it didn’t matter.
The Suns only needed their backcourt offensively while their defense completely locked down Luka Doncic and the rest of this Dallas offense. It seems that they were able to find the game plan that they had in the first two games.
Mavericks Couldn’t Get Anything Going
Only three Dallas players scored in double digits, which is not good. To make it worse, only one other player besides those three had over five.
Doncic dropped 28 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists and Jalen Brunson added 21, but it just got worse from there. Dallas as a team shot 38 percent from the field and an even worse 25 percent from behind the arc.
Plus, they were 66.7% from their free throws on top of that. They were just bleeding points all over the place.
It should go without saying but those numbers are just not going to win you games against the team with the best record in the league. This group will badly need another role player to step up in Game 6.
Suns vs Mavericks Head-to-Head
Including the postseason, Phoenix has beaten Dallas six out of the eight times they have played them. The Mavs will have to have a monumental effort to stop that from being seven of nine.

Suns vs Mavericks Prediction
The Suns are already favored to win Game 6 by two points in the sportsbook and it isn’t entirely surprising. After all, Phoenix obliterated Dallas in front of their own fans and we usually get to see the team win Game 6 when they are leading 3-2 in the series.
However, there has been a specific trend in this series. The home team has won every single contest. If that ends up staying true, then the Mavericks will be able to force a Game 7 with a solid performance here.
That is exactly why the Mavericks against the spread seem to be a good pick. The trends seem to be pointing right at them for this particular matchup. Take Phoenix with your NBA picks.
