The first Big 6 clash of the season is here as Chelsea play host to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League in what should be an entertaining derby. Our sportsbook is offering the best markets and bonuses for the Premier League.
Chelsea: Strong squad
Chelsea kicked off their Premier League season with an important 1-0 road victory against Everton and we also cashed out the ‘Chelsea and Under 4½ goals’ bet at -110. We’re ready for another week packed with winners so make sure you read all our soccer picks and parlays if you want to increase your bankroll. The Blues secured victory with a stoppage-time first-half penalty from Jorginho, who buried it in the bottom-left corner. The Stamford Bridge outfit was far from their best as they struggled to break down a stubborn Toffees defensive line but the Blues built up plenty of late pressure, dominating the match from the first till the final whistle.
Chelsea had a busy summer transfer window trying to fix their defensive issues. They signed ex-Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as a replacement for Antonio Rudiger who moved to Real Madrid. They also signed Marc Cucurella from Brighton, who plays on the left flank. They lost Timo Werner who returned to RB Leipzig but they replaced him with Raheem Sterling from Man City. Armando Broja is also in the mix, a forward who returned to Chelsea after a one-season loan spell with Southampton.
Chelsea like their season opener has a fully fit squad ready to win their first home clash of the EPL season. Koulibaly limped off late in the game but Thomas Tuchel confirmed it was just cramps and the Senegalese will be available against Tottenham. Despite not scoring against Everton Raheem Sterling was a constant threat with Kai Havertz and Mason Mount in the buildup and he also took advantage of his great pace on the break. If you’re betting online, make sure you have your eyes on him because he will score many goals this season.
Tottenham: All Guns Blazing
As we previously mentioned in our ‘futures’ stories, Tottenham is one of the teams capable of challenging the title this season, or better said, they are the perfect underdogs. They should have enough to finish at least third in the standings and also win one of the domestic cups. Antonio Conte is the man with the plan, a real winner, whom many see as one of the top managers in the world right now.
Last weekend, they were at their lethal best after punishing Southampton time and again on the break, beating them 4-1 and sitting first after Matchday 1. What’s more important is the fact that their deadly attacking duo Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son were not on the scoreboard. It means that Conte has plenty of firepower in his squad. It’s important to mention that Richarlison, who arrived from Everton in the summer transfer window, was suspended against Southampton but he’s expected to make his competitive debut against Chelsea.
Conte will heavily rely on Kane and Son for putting Chelsea’s backline under pressure. Son and Kane were kept quiet when they faced Southampton on the opening day, and they will want to get on the scoresheet this weekend. Tottenham is one of our favorite teams of the season because they have a balanced squad and a world-class manager who know how it is to win the Premier League because he already achieved that with Chelsea.
Chelsea vs Tottenham Head-to-Head
Chelsea has the upper hand on Tottenham winning their previous five head-to-heads across all competitions. Actually, they are unbeaten since 2019 when they suffered a 1-0 defeat in the ELF Cup but they still managed to qualify further beating Spurs 3-2 on aggregate. Tottenham failed to score against the Blues in their previous six mutual encounters. Last season Chelsea and Tottenham had the third and fourth best attack in the league respectively with 76 and 69 goals scored.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Predictions
Given their excellent recent record against Spurs, the hosts enter this clash as favorites being priced at +125 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds while the goal-line is set at 2½.
Both teams will want to use this fixture as a stepping-stone to get one better over their top-four rivals and show what they are capable of. This clash will have significant importance come to the end of the season and both Tuchel and Conte will definitely have an attacking approach. We expect Tottenham to return home with a positive result but it’s the start of the season so we are not ready to back them yet against the top teams of the league. We will avoid the ML and go with the goals market as we’re expecting a high-scoring affair.
