Visitors Aiming for First Place
Welcome Back
Last season, Cremonese finished second in the Italian Serie B, which means they got promoted to Serie A right away. Well, apparently, they weren’t ready because they’re one of the three teams that haven’t been able to win a single point.
On the other hand, we’ve Torino, one of the nine teams that haven’t lost. As expected, the Maroons dominate the soccer odds, but this will be The Tigers’ home debut, something that could make a big difference from their first two games.

Let’s check the latest Italy Serie A news, stats, injury reports and Italy Serie A odds for Cremonese vs Torino. We’ve plenty of Italy Serie A picks and predictions for you to consider.
Cremonese: Highly Motivated
Yes, Cremonese lost its first two games, but the Tigers put up an excellent fight against Fiorentina and AS Roma, two teams that could be considered dark horses when it comes to winning the title. Especially considering that both games were on the road.
First, they visited the Violets and lost 3-2. The home side scored the winning goal in stoppage time despite playing the entire second half with one more player. Cremonese midfielder Gonzalo Escalante was sent off right before halftime. David Okereke and Matteo Bianchetti were the scorers.
Last Monday, they visited AS Roma and gave manager Jose Mourinho a headache. The Tigers won possession with 52 percent but couldn’t capitalize on any of their three clear options in front of the goal. On the other hand, Mourinho’s team took advantage of one and that was enough. Christopher Smalling scored the winning goal 20 minutes into the second half.
I know facing Serie B teams isn’t the same, but last season, Cremonese only lost two games at home, finishing 11-6-2, with 32 goals for and 18 against. I’m telling you, this is one of those cases in which playing at home can really make a difference. Even so, the Tigers come in as the betting online underdogs at +210. If they pull off the stunner, a $100 wager could turn into a $310 payout. Tempting, right?
Torino: Why Not?
Torino has had a great start, but I don’t see the Maroons fighting for the title. However, I do see them fighting for seventh place, which would grant them a ticket to the UEFA Nations League. Why not? Last season, they finished 10th, 12 points behind seventh.
The Maroons opened the current campaign with a 2-1 victory in Monza. Aleksei Miranchuk and Antonio Sanabria were the scorers. The home side scored in stoppage time, meaning Torino dominated the game pretty much from start to end.
Last Saturday, they played host to Lazio and managed to win a point. Once again, the defensive unit did a great job by restraining Ciro Immobile and company in a 0-0 draw. After all, Immobile is among the favorites to win the league’s Golden Boot.
Offensively, Sanabria and Nikola Vlasic have the potential to become a dynamic duo to fear. Defensively, they just need to keep doing what they’ve been doing. Being a well-balanced team is what allows the Maroons to be in control of the Las Vegas odds at +130. There’s also the fact that manager Ivan Juric is much more experienced than Massimiliano Alvini, at least when it comes to coaching in the big leagues.
Cremonese vs Torino Head-to-Head
- Previous Matches: 19
- Cremonese Victories: 5 (20 goals)
- Torino Victories: 8 (26 goals)
- Draws: 6
Curiously enough, these two met last season. It was in the first round of the Coppa Italia and the match finished with a goalless draw. Later, Torino had no trouble winning the penalty shootout 4-1. The Maroons could have won it in overtime, but Rolando Mandragora missed a penalty with only four minutes left on the clock.
Regarding the Serie A, they haven’t met since the 1995-96 season.

Cremonese vs Torino Prediction
There’s no doubt that Torino is the better team, but the atmosphere in Cremona will make this a close contest. Even so, the Maroons at +130 is too good a deal not to take. After all, we’re talking about a team that has been in the Serie A since the 2012-13 season and it’s currently extra motivated after starting the campaign on the right foot. I would also consider including under 2½ goals at -110 in your soccer picks. Neither of the two teams usually risks much.
Score Prediction: Torino 1, Cremonese 0
