If you want to bet on the German top-flight league, our sportsbook has got you covered.
Let’s check the latest news, stats, injury reports, and Bundesliga odds for Dortmund vs Leipzig. We’ve plenty of predictions for you to consider.
Dortmund: Erling Haaland and Marco Reus are back
With eight games to play, the distance between leaders Bayern Munich and second-placed Dortmund (six points) is slim enough to keep the fight for the title interesting. In the previous 58 seasons of Bundesliga, the leader on Week 27 has lifted the trophy on 47 occasions. In the last 14 seasons, the reigning champs have been Bayern Munich on 11 occasions, including the last nine on the spin. This means Dortmund has a very slim chance to leapfrog the Bavarian giants in the standings.
The international break is over and Dortmund will play three top sides including a direct match against Bayern in the next two months. They will play Bayern on Saturday, April 23, but they must beat Leipzig for that clash to count. Star striker Erling Haaland returned to fitness and that’s a huge boost for Dortmund’s attack that suffered in recent months.
Many important players are back and will probably play against Leipzig. Captain Marco Reus, the player with the biggest impact on Dortmund’s game by combining well with the other forward players, US playmaker Gio Reyna, has also made a timely recovery, and head coach Marco Rose still has first-choice defenders Manuel Akanji, Raphael Guerreiro and Mats Hummels to reintroduce to the fold.
Dortmund is close to perfect at home this season winning 11 in 13 games and scoring 40 goals in the process but they are playing Leipzig and it’s very difficult to include them in our soccer picks and parlays at +135.
RB Leipzig: Fighting for a top-four finish
Jesse Marsch has left RB Leipzig by mutual consent after less than half a season as head coach. The club appointed Domenico Tedesco as their new manager, four days after the departure of the American coach. The real issue with Marsch and Leipzig is really as simple as the right manager, wrong time. Anyone replacing a manager as talented as Julian Nagelsmann is going to struggle.
Back in December, Leipzig had scored just one win in their last six games, and the squad’s discontent with the American’s radical tactical shift seemed to foreshadow the downfall long before it eventually happened. Domenico Tedesco came as a savior having as the main objective to finish in the top four and earn a Champions League spot. He has brought them up to fourth in the table, taking them into the semi-finals of the DFB Pokal and the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Tedesco’s first decision after taking the job was to steer away from a 4-2-3-1 and back to the 3-4-1-2. That worked like a glove with Leipzig being one of the most in-form teams in the domestic league. Tedesco has reverted Leipzig’s system back to a trigger-based approach, similar to what Nagelsmann was using. If you’re betting online you should know that the visitors are the only German side still competing in three different competitions.
Dortmund vs Leipzig Head-to-Head
Dortmund’s head-to-head record against RB Leipzig is amazing. They won six of the last eight mutual encounters between the two sides losing just one in the process. The defeat came in the reverse fixture when RB Leipzig won 2-1 on home soil. If we’re talking only about games played on Dortmund’s home soil, the Signal Iduna Park, Leipzig’s last win was in 2017 when they beat Dortmund 3-2. We’ve seen at least three goals in five of the last six games between the two clubs with both contributing to the scoresheet on five occasions.

Dortmund vs Leipzig Prediction
Dortmund enters this clash as slight favorites being priced at +135 on the three-way money line according to the latest soccer odds while the goal-line is set at three.
It’s crazy to see the goal-line set at three with some attacking firepower on both sides. These two teams are absolutely magic going forward. When you put together Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku on the same pitch playing against each other, there’s no way we see less than three goals. On top of that, both sides are producing high-scoring affairs when they face each other. So we will skip the winners’ market and will focus on goals. If you want a correct score prediction, we expect a 2-2 draw.
