Real Madrid Riding High
Last Wednesday, Real Madrid once again starred in an epic comeback. Defeating PSG 3-1 at home allowed Los Blancos to advance to the Champions League Round of 8. Plus, now they can focus on increasing their advantage at the top of La Liga. The continental tournament won’t be back until April.
Their next challenge won’t be easy. Mallorca is trying to avoid falling into the relegation zone. Even so, Los Blancos dominate the soccer odds with a -180 price.
Mallorca Can’t Afford to Lose
Mallorca lost its last four La Liga games. Only Rayo Vallecano is on a worst losing streak (five games). That’s why Mallorca is sitting in 16th place, only two points above 18th. Don’t forget that at the end of the season, the last three teams will be relegated to Division 2.
The thing with los Piratas is that they always put up a good fight. Most recently, they lost 4-3 to Celta de Vigo. Iago Aspas scored the winning goal at 97 minutes — twominutes after Mallorca lost Manolo Reina due to a red card.
Their home record isn’t the best, but they’ve been considerably better when playing at Visit Mallorca Stadium. They recently defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-2 and drew 1-1 to Sevilla. They own a 4-6-4 record at home and are 2-2-9 on the road.
We’re also talking about a team that reached the Copa del Rey Round of 8. That’s something Barcelona and Sevilla can’t say, so, they aren’t as bad as the standings show. Plus, Mallorca is offering a +500 price. That means a potential $600 payout if you include them in your soccer picks with a $100 bet.
Mallorca’s projected lineup: Sergio Rico; Giovanni Gonzalez, Pablo Maffeo, Antonio Raillo, Martin Valjent, Jaume Costa; Antonio Sanchez, Iddrisu Baba, Dani Rodriguez; Takefusa Kubo, Vedat Muriqi.
Real Madrid on Roll
Besides eliminating PSG from the UCL, Real Madrid hasn’t lost in its last seven domestic games. Last Saturday, they started losing to Real Sociedad but finished winning 4-1. Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modric, Karim Benzema (of course) and Marco Asensio were the scorers.
Midweek, against the Parisians, Benzema scored all three goals. The French striker has scored 30 goals in all competitions. He’s 34 years old. I think it’s time for all of us to recognize him as one of the best in the world.
Los Blancos defeated PSG without Ferland Mendy and Casemiro. Both were suspended, which means they’ll be well-rested to play against Mallorca. Real Madrid has talent to spare as Isco, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard didn’t play, either.
At home or on the road, a powerhouse such as Real Madrid always has to go all-in. Los Blancos own a 9-2-2 record when playing away from home, one of the best in La Liga. Defeating Mallorca could increase their advantage at the top up to 11 points. Sevilla will visit Rayo Vallecano, which is not an easy game at all.
No major injuries or absences to report here. Another reason why the visitors dominate the Las Vegas odds
Real Madrid’s projected lineup: Thibaut Courtois; Lucas Vazquez, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy; Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Casemiro; Marco Asensio, Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema.

Mallorca vs Real Madrid Prediction
Real Madrid always deserves to be the betting online favorite. Nevertheless, I think los Blancos are going to suffer in Mallorca. Last Wednesday’s effort was abysmal, and I don’t expect head coach Carlo Ancelotti to make too many changes. They want to win the La Liga title ASAP.
Don’t get me wrong, I still think los Blancos are going to win, but I don’t expect a blowout. However, I do expect enough goals for the total to go over.
Score Prediction: Real Madrid 2, Mallorca 1
