🏆🏀 It’s Time! 🏆🏀

Despite the Pacers’ run, it’s hard to see them beating the Lakers…

The Finals for the NBA In-Season Tournament are set! Representing the Western Conference is the Los Angeles Lakers, who destroyed the New Orleans Pelicans in a 133-89 win in the semifinals.

The biggest surprise of the In-Season Tournament has been the Indiana Pacers, who beat the Boston Celtics to get into the semifinals and then were able to upset the Milwaukee Bucks to get to the Finals.

Considering the Bucks and Celtics are near the top of the NBA standings, those were impressive wins. Much of that is thanks to guard Tyrese Haliburton, who had 27 points and 15 assists in the 128-119 win over the Bucks.

The Pacers will now be looking for a third-straight upset in NBA games. LeBron James and the Lakers should be the favorite in the Finals after their dismantling of the Pelicans. Los Angeles has yet to lose an In-Season Tournament as they’ve dominated the NBA bracket.

LeBron may be nearing his 39th birthday but he’s still playing like somebody who is in their 20s. He scored 30 points in just 23 minutes against the Pelicans. He’s been playing out of his mind in these In-Season Tournament games and he’s going to bring it against the Pacers, especially only seeing light work against the Pelicans.

However, Haliburton has also been playing out of his mind. The young guard broke out last season and was named an All-Star. He’s proving that wasn’t a fluke. He’s averaging 26.9 points a game and leads the NBA with 12.1 assists per game. I think we’re looking at the next great point guard in the NBA.

The biggest matchup in the Finals is going to be LeBron James vs. Tyrese Haliburton. Both are on fire right now and having great seasons. Haliburton is just 23 so we’ll see if he’s ready to face off against the GOAT on a national stage. If he can lead the Pacers to another upset win, it might be time for NBA news outlets to start talking about him as an MVP candidate.

Despite the Pacers’ run, it’s hard to see them beating the Lakers. Los Angeles has been so good and the fact that they are coming off an easy win likely means they’ll be fresher for the Finals. It’s been a great run for Indiana but the Lakers are a freight train right now and LeBron clearly wants to win this NBA cup.
