NBA Superstar ⭐

He’s young, was the No. 1 pick, and plays like Michael Jordan…

It’s getting harder and harder to deny that Anthony Edwards is the real deal. Some of the Michael Jordan comparisons are ridiculous but the young guard can straight-up ball. Anthony Edwards’ stats were the best of his career this season but what truly makes a superstar is how they perform in the NBA playoffs.

Edwards is proving to be an elite playoff performer. Nobody expects the Minnesota Timberwolves to beat the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs but they’re off to a great start thanks to Edwards. He scored 43 points in Game 1 while leading the Timberwolves to the 106-99 upset.

This comes just one game after he scored 40 points on the Phoenix Suns to complete a sweep. It’s not easy to have multiple 40-point playoff games as a 22-year-old and he already has three. If he keeps playing this well, Minnesota might have a chance of getting to the NBA Finals.

What a Deep Playoff Run Would Do for Ant

The Timberwolves are not one of the NBA’s great franchises. This team has never even been to the NBA Finals and has only played in the Conference Finals once. Whoever gets this team over the hump is going to be a legend in Minnesota.

It’s looking more and more like Edwards will be that player. A deep playoff run this year and him continuing to play out of his mind would dominate the NBA news cycle. There have been NBA rumors for years about who will be the next face of the league with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry all getting older.

The NBA would prefer to have an American player be the face of the league and Edwards is turning out to be a great candidate. He’s young, was the No. 1 pick, and plays like Michael Jordan. If he somehow leads the Timberwolves to a championship, he’ll definitely be a leading candidate to be the face of the NBA.

Edwards going on a run would be great for the league. Most of the best players are from other countries these days and an American hasn’t won the MVP since James Harden in 2018. It’s looking like Edwards is the next great American player.
