Potential Playoff Teams Square Off
The New Orleans Pelicans weren’t expected to be a playoff team with Zion Williamson missing the entire season. However, they have exceeded expectations and sit in the ninth seed out in the Western Conference while winning eight of 11.
The arrival of C.J. McCollum has helped their offense and as the postseason approaches, they have won five of their last six games overall. To keep it going, they have to take on a really tough Memphis Grizzlies squad next though.
Memphis was recently riding a seven-game winning streak but has since dropped their last two. They’re already locked into the No. 2 seed in the West, so if you betonline, keep in mind that intensity may not be at a high here.

Pelicans Look Completely Different
Before the trade deadline this team had some good players but not enough to really make noise in the Western Conference.
Adding McCollum has opened up their offense, though, and already they look much more effective. McCollum leads the team in scoring already with 25.6 points per game.
Brandon Ingram has been able to get easier looks with another weapon distracting defensive attention, averaging 22.7 a game himself. Obviously, not having Williamson this season has hurt them.
However, this team has a good core and could be a serious contender next year if all goes well. Any success this year is now just gravy.
If you betonline, keep an eye on Ingram’s health for this game as well, he is listed as questionable and that could be a huge factor with the betting line.
Grizzlies Flying High
The Grizzlies have lost their last two games as superstar guard Ja Morant remains out. Morant has missed a chunk of time lately with an injury but should be back for the postseason.
In his absence, we have seen a new point guard show how excellent he can be in a larger role. Backup guard Tyus Jones has been phenomenal at dishing the ball out. He has 4.4 assists per game on just 0.6 turnovers a contest.
It’s safe to say that Memphis is in good hands offensively even if Morant is held out. Plus, this team is very deep. Outside of Morant, the Grizzlies have five players averaging double digits in scoring.
Pelicans vs Grizzlies Head-to-Head
The Pelicans drew first blood by defeating Memphis earlier in the season. However, the Grizzlies have won the last two contests.

Pelicans vs Grizzlies Prediction
Memphis is listed as a 5.5-point favorite. If this game were to be played earlier in the season, the Grizzlies would be the easy choice. Things have changed in the West lately, though.
New Orleans, with McCollum, look like a different team than they did in the past while Memphis doesn’t have Morant available.
Memphis looks to be in position to win this game given their depth, but the Pelicans are the better choice to cover the spread. It’s doubtful that they can’t keep this game close towards the end.
