Can Celtics Cover Monster Game 2 Betting Spread vs Cavs?
The Boston Celtics are a whopping double-figure betting favorite again as they seek a second straight dominating win over the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Thursday.
The Celtics pulled away steadily on Tuesday for a 120-95 victory in Game 1 as Jaylen Brown poured in a team-high 32 points. Boston, the top seed in the East, has won its last four games in the playoffs by a total of 93 points.
Donovan Mitchell continued his hot shooting for Cleveland, registering 33 points on Tuesday. The All-Star guard has totaled 150 points in his last four games and paid off a lot of NBA prop bets at BetUS sportsbook.
The Celtics have been a strong bet on the moneyline all season at home, going 40-5 at TD Garden. Boston is 3-1 against the Cavaliers in 2023-24, including all three at TD Garden.

Tatum-Brown-White Trio Making Bettors Smile
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are being joined by Derrick White to form an unstoppable threesome on the offensive end for Boston in the postseason.
All three are averaging at least 21 points in the first six playoff games and they combined for 75 in Game 1 against Cleveland. White, who put up 63 points in the last two games of the first round against Miami, scored 25 on Tuesday and Tatum added 18.
“Derrick White has grown,” Brown told reporters. “This is a new version that we haven’t seen before,”
White averaged 15.2 points during the regular season but has poured in 22.8 per contest in the last six games. Tatum did it all Monday, adding 11 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks.

Who’s Supporting Donovan Mitchell?
The Cavaliers were held to 41.1 percent shooting in Game 1, including 11-of-42 from 3-point range. They need much better to hit on the moneyline and send Over bettors to the pay window.
Mitchell did his thing, draining 12-of-25 from the field, but the rest of the guards were just 10-for-34. Cleveland also received just 15 points from its bench. The Cavaliers will just try to stay the course.
“I’m pretty sure everybody thinks they’re going to come in and kick our ass,” Mitchell told reporters before the series. “So for us to continue to stay level-headed throughout, and just be who we are, that’s the biggest thing.”
Evan Mobley had a solid game, contributing 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Cavaliers. They will need more from Max Strus (2-for-8) and Sam Merrill (0-for-5).
The #Cavs need someone other than Donovan Mitchell to step up if they want to hang with the Celtics.

Kristaps Porzingis, Jarrett Allen Out? Centers Missing for Both Teams
Boston’s Kristaps Porzingis and Jarrett Allen of the Cavaliers sat out Game 1 due to injuries.
It is unlikely Porzingis (calf) returns for this round while Allen is questionable with bruised ribs, sustained during the first-round win over Orlando.
Allen averaged 17 points in the first four games against the Magic and a career-high 16.5 in the regular season. Even though Porzingis might be a more dangerous offensive weapon, Allen may be more important if you’re betting on the series.
Luke Kornet (four points, 10 rebounds) and Al Horford (seven, eight) filled in for Porzingis on Tuesday. Veteran big man Tristan Thompson played a playoff-high 16 minutes off the bench for Cleveland.

Questions of the Day
Which team is likely to make more 3-pointers, the Cavaliers or Celtics?
Boston. The Celtics averaged three more during the regular season and made seven more (18-11) on Tuesday.
Will Darius Garland score at least 20 points for Cleveland in Game 2?
Yes. Garland is due for a big night after scoring 14 in Game 1. He should have more room if Boston tightens up on Mitchell.
