The NBA playoffs, a thrilling and unpredictable spectacle, are in full swing. On Sunday afternoon, the Cleveland Cavaliers stormed back from down 18 points and defeated the Orlando Magic in this season’s first Game 7 scenario. Donovan Mitchell shined with 39 points, and the Cavaliers are set to challenge the Boston Celtics in the second round. This excitement is what keeps us all hooked on the NBA playoffs.

On Saturday, we witnessed the Minnesota Timberwolves start their second-round series with a stunning win on the road against the defending champion Denver Nuggets. Anthony Edwards’ 43-point performance in the Game 1 victory was a thrilling highlight. It’s these unexpected twists and turns that make the playoffs so electrifying.

Monday night’s NBA lineup is a battleground of high-stakes games. The New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers will be locked in a fierce battle in Madison Square Garden, with a 7:30 p.m. ET tip for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals clash. The Timberwolves are set to challenge the Nuggets, aiming to take a commanding 2-0 series lead before heading home for Games 3 and 4.

With my NBA predictions proving accurate in the playoffs, I’m excited to maintain the momentum with the best NBA player props for Monday’s pair of playoff games.

Best NBA Player Props Today

Knicks PG Jalen Brunson Over 35½ Points (-108)

The New York Knickerbockers will host the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 on Monday night, and I’m going with the chalk. The Knicks were locked in against the 76ers in the first round, and I expect them to carry that juice into tonight’s matchup. New York and Philly produced one of the most entertaining playoff series in recent memory, with every game providing twists and turns.

However, there was one constant: Jalen Brunson. The Knicks point guard is averaging 35.5 points in the playoffs and is coming off three consecutive 40-point games. He has poured in 39, 47, 40 and 41 points over his last four games. Michael Jordan was the last player to score 39 or more points in four consecutive playoff games!

I expect the Knicks to come out and play with their regular intensity and tenacity. The Knicks hosted the Pacers twice at MSG during the regular season, and Brunson scored 39 and 40 points. It’s no secret that the Pacers’ defense is porous in the paint. They allowed the second-most points in the paint per game, behind only the Washington Wizards.

Brunson scored a team-high 11.6 points per game in the paint. The Pacers also allowed the most free throw attempts per game, and Brunson led all Knicks in this column. He averaged 6.5 free throw attempts per game during the regular season, and that number jumped to 10.5 FTA in the first round of the playoffs. I’m banking on Brunson to continue to shine!

Pacers PF Pascal Siakam Under 20½ Points (-117)

If you’ve been following along with my NBA bets this season, you might be shocked to see our first under bet of the entire year. While I typically handicap by identifying advantageous spots, there is always value to be found in the under markets as well, especially in the playoffs. I’m backing Brunson because I believe the Knicks are the right side in tonight’s matchup, so I’m fading Pascal Siakam.

Siakam was tremendous for the Pacers in Games 1 and 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks, scoring 36 and 37 points, but he disappeared for the remainder of the series. Siakam scored 17, 13, 12, and 19 points in the next four games.

There is an underlying storyline of former teammates in this series. The Pacers acquired former All-Star Siakam in a surprising move from the Toronto Raptors in January. The Knicks also made a shocking trade with the Raptors in January when they acquired OG Anunoby for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. Both have performed exceptionally well for their new teams and will meet as opponents for the first time tonight.

Anunoby is one of the premier defenders in the NBA. You may recall seeing tons of Tobias Harris slander from the 76ers fans after he failed to produce against the Knicks. If you watched, you would have seen Anunoby as the primary defender on Harris. Anunoby held Harris to 7, 10, 8, 10, 19 and 0 points against New York after averaging 17.2 ppg in the regular season!

Siakam has been held under this line in three consecutive matchups with the Knicks and seven of his last 10. I’m fading Siakam with the expectation that Anunoby will slow him down in this series.

Michael Porter Jr. At Least 4 Made Threes (+120)

We’re heading to the Mile High City tonight with our third and final NBA bet. I typically like getting plus-money on 3-point props, and the sportsbook has juiced Michael Porter Jr’s line at 2½, so I’m opting for the alternate number tonight at four made threes. We were all over MPJ in the series with the Lakers, and he came through for us on multiple occasions!

MPJ is the third point of attack for the defending champs. He shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc in the Game 1 loss. We should expect him to let it fly again, with the Nuggets desperate to avoid going down 0-2 in the series.

MPJ has exceeded this line in three of his last six playoff matchups with the Timberwolves and one of three meetings during the regular season. The defense will be focused on slowing down Nikola Jokic, leaving MPJ with open looks on the wing. Count on him to continue his hot shooting and knock down at least four shots from beyond the arc tonight – at plus money!
