I’ll be cheering on my team from the comfort of my living room like most average middle-class fans do.

The price to attend Super Bowl 2024 is practically equivalent to hiking Mount Everest. If you’re curious about the cost, fear not–I’ve done all the research and can reveal the outrageous prices for these exclusive tickets.

Going to the Super Bowl has become a status symbol, much like conquering Mount Everest (apologies, hiking references are my specialty). But let’s be real; these experiences are only reserved for the incredibly wealthy elite.

In case you’re unfamiliar, many outdoor enthusiasts have disavowed climbing Mount Everest due to its exclusivity for the rich and famous, rather than being a true test of athletic ability. The same goes for the Super Bowl; it is primarily attended by celebrities and affluent individuals who may not even be die-hard NFL fans.

Now, let me break down the numbers for you: On Ticketmaster (the official seller of 2024 Super Bowl tickets), prices range from $53,000 to $9,000 (for nosebleed seats). Let’s crunch some numbers here and stay on the conservative side. For this example, let’s assume that some NFL rumors are correct and the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl. If you were to book a flight right now from Kansas City, it would cost around $752 with American Airlines (or closer to $900 with Southwest).

And of course, we can’t forget about accommodation costs. This year, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is hosting the event–and trust me, as a resident, hotel prices skyrocket during this time. You won’t find any rooms for less than $1,500 (and no, sadly, you can’t crash on my couch).

Next up is food and drinks for the weekend–chances are you’re going all-out on this special occasion. Drinks alone could easily add up to $200 per night, and even if you stick to a strict keto diet, you’d still spend over $100 per day on food. So, for two days, you’re looking at a budget of $600.

For a ticket just shy of the nosebleed section, that would cost you $18,000. Therefore, if you conservatively attend the Super Bowl by staying Saturday to Sunday and leaving early Monday morning, you’re looking at a whopping price tag of approximately $23,900. 🤯

While it’s true that the NFL fan base tends to be older and potentially wealthier than other sports fanbases, attending the Super Bowl would still eat up over 20% of an annual salary of $100,000.

Now let’s switch back to Mount Everest: To obtain a permit in Nepal, you must use a local company, which can cost up to $9,500. This includes a team fee of $2,500, a refundable trash deposit of $4,000 per permit, and an additional $3,000 for a liaison officer for the team. On top of that, each person must pay $11,000 for their climbing permit. Essentially, before even factoring in expenses such as guide services, yaks, food, or gear–you must be ready to spend around $20,000 just to attempt climbing from the Nepal side. Of course, some big spenders may fork out up to $200,000 for their climb (the same goes for hoity toity Super Bowl attendees).

Here’s a look at some Super Bowl odds to consider!

While attending the Super Bowl is undoubtedly less dangerous than climbing Mount Everest, I would argue that neither experience is worth the exorbitant price tag. Unless of course, the Raiders made NFL news by making it to the Super Bowl one day…then I might have to start hawking my belongings just to afford the buckets of silver and black paint I’d douse myself in.

Until then, I’ll be cheering on my team from the comfort of my living room like most average middle-class fans do. Or, if I’m lucky, you’ll catch me at Allegiant Stadium after winning those two Super Bowl tickets BetUS is giving away. Fingers crossed! And if you haven’t yet entered, GO! NOW!
